Low Watts - High Yield - Let's Smash the 1 GPW Benchmark Together

I made two of 420fied's aero cloners before he found that he needed to reduce his pump pressure,my pumps don't have the flow adjustment knobs on them so I just put 1/2 inch pvc swing valves on them like shown in the picture. Make sure your tub is deep enough to accomodate the added height to your manifold though.

Awesome idea tee. Thanks for sharing!

I believe this suggestion was given by a member in one of your journals 420fied so I won't take credit for it other than to say that it works like a charm. Instead of building the curtain to keep water from leaking out of the aero cloner, put foam rubber weatherstripping on under side of the lid as shown,I used the thickest I could find at Lowe's,see picture of package. I don't get a single drop of leakage using this method.

Ive built about 6 cloners now and used both ways and by far the curtain method works better alot of times with the weather stripping it comes unsealed to the lud and also sometimes you have to make thicker for certain areas on certain tubs like roughnecks have indentions where the handles snap together and if handles have breather holes like on rubbermaid totes but the valve idea ill be implimenting tommorrow!

I am currently in the process of emulating your hempy grow style. I have about 30 2L collected and painted, however, after about 4 coats of black matte spray paint (that bonds to plastic) I can still see small amounts of light coming through when held up to the light. Am I being to anal or does your hempy pots have this also? If so then obviously the minimal light penetration does not matter.

Good adjustment on your manifold. You never mentioned if they're on a timer or not? As far as feeding them goes, it all depends on how they look. If they start to look rough, feed them. If not, hold off until right before you leave. I've never done it so I'm only giving my opinion here. I hope it works out for you.

:thumb:
Yeah I have the cloner on a timer; 1m50sec on 55sec off. I'll be checking on them carefully but the loss of color in the leaves is from energy being used to produce roots isnt it? Just needs a little nitrogen to green up?

PS. Looking back at your aerocloner tutorial, looks like your manifold was real close to the stems and you had long roots in 10 days...hmm

hey man plants look great i just have a question about the bud porn pics you posted. the tips of most of the leaves look like they have some neut burn. but i thought bpn was organic so the plants should only take up as much as they need making that impossible ??

Geez 420fied. I just went thru the entire journal all over again from start to finish and copy/pasted all of your thoughts into a Word doc. Currently sitting at 274 pages with pictures. I feel like I'm reading a book trying to read all of your stuff. At least its a good book though! :thumb:

So I just finished building up a room to start my grows... 9'x8'x10'h. I'll be seperating the room off in two for mothers/clones and flowering doing the 2liter method as you are. I just purchased a 600 watt hps and was wondering how many 2liters do you think I'll be able to place under that thing? I'll probably need to add extenders to the hood to focus the lights but that will be once the seeds get to the mothering stage in a few months.

I'll be starting the seeds as you mentioned to me before and going from there in the mixture you mentioned for you mothers. Another question for you... When do you start watering your plants that get put into the Baccto Mix? When the plant finally breaches the top or once it gets to a certain point?

Once again, thanks for all your help!

This is normal. As leaves grow they eventually die. As the plant continues to flower and reach maturity, it sucks the leaves dry to get all it can into flower production. How many days from flower is part of diagnosing this sign. BPN reduces nitrogen during flowering. Since shes been in flower mode for a while, this could be why. :peace:

It won't matter. Some of my pots have paint chipped off of them and I see no ill effect. They're packed in so tightly that the bottoms of the 2 Liters pretty much stay dark on my tables. Minimal light penetration doesn't hurt my setup.

You're correct. The yellowing is due to the fact that the clones are using that energy to produce roots. A little Nitrogen is in order. In reference to my old setup..... they rooted but I had instances of stem rot and a black stress ring. Once I adjusted my clones to where I only have 1-1.5" of stem below the neoprene puck, the problems went away.

I'm using the 3 part Elite series. I'm in the process of developing a Hempy feeding schedule and the plants on table one have been guinea pigs, so to speak.

You're welcome.

How many plants you stack under your 600 watter depends on the size of your hood. You should have no problem running 35-60. When starting Moms, I place the seed in a small solo cup until it sprouts and grows to approx 6-8". Then I transplant it to a bigger pot. I'm not sure I understand your watering question? I water the plants as they need it. I wish you the best.

lol... thanks bro. I always enjoy your feedback. I'll be running 154 on each table and yes, they're stacked in like chord wood.....just the way I like it. ;)

I hope you'll continue to check in. You were the first person that greeted me when I joined this site and a large part of the reason that I made 420Mag my home.

:Namaste:
Bro, I 100% agree with everything you just said.

And brother, the 420fied style hempy is going viral!! I knew it would be so!

Looking forward to the hempy feeding schedule :thanks:

Me too!!

Hey 420fied,

I'm really late to the party...please don't hold it against me :) It took like a week to get caught up.

Man your setup is rockin', I knew it would be wonderful once you got it going/growing...and it is. I'm excited for you and your first full table harvest of gelled clones. They look really good.

Livin' in the boonies sure has its advantages. Love the vent idea for cool nights...but I thought co2 was most beneficial in veg...not so much in flower. Or do I have that backwards?

Love the journal, thanks for sharing...I can't wait to see how the actual #'s compare to your predictions. Best of Luck, not that you need it.

Good to see you Sqwheels. The vent was added for the purpose of cooling the flower room on those nights when the temps are in the 50-60* range so I won't have to kick on the AC. The co2 that comes in is just a bonus and probably not much of an increase as the atmosphere runs in the 300-600 PPM range.

As far as when and when not to use co2. It's never detrimental when used within the proper PPM levels and should certainly be ran during the flower phase. In fact, there are some growers who only run c02 during flower. If I had to choose I'd run it during flower as opposed to veg.

I hope all is well and I hope you'll stop by again.

Good Growing

I saw in an older journal of yours that each plant needed 8 oz of nutrient solution per day or 16 every other day. Have you found that that is still the case with the addition of the light mover? Or have you found that they are eating less?
