My First Grow

Wishing you the best of luck on your first grow, if you used a potting soil like miracle gro potting soil, they allready have enough fertilizer in them that i wouldnt add any additional nutrients untill your plants get at least 6 to 8 inches tall. when you do start to add the nutrients, start out very weak and work your way up, the brand i use calls for 1 oz. to a gallon of water, but i learned the hard way, that ratio is way to strong for baby plants. give them lots of love, and tender care, and they will be more then happy to give there life for you in the end, to make up for your kindness you have showen them.

its all good dutchmasters!

I def agree Pericodaking im going to talk to Pan4 to see what i can do i know he has a thread going right now Pan's Guide to Aeroponics

Hey thanks for the luck BUDBEAR! but im not so new at this anymore my friend i have learned lots of great info on this site. Also Miracle grow might not be so good a soil to use. It has time release nutes that might not be so good for your plants. They might come out deform or live for a while then wilt and die. thanks for the info but im well informed on nutes and such. Did you check my grow journal out? im almost done dude thanks for the advice though

Hey now....ya can't knock Miracle Grow entirely. I've been using nothing but the Wal-Mart stock since I started. The Hyponics ($2) potting soil, used containers (2 gal?) from the nursery, Liquid Miracle Grow (light-weight for the seedlings), and reg. MG until Flowering, when I switched to....believe it or not...the Azalea Bloom Formula cuz it's 15-30-18 or something like that. On that note...the only prob I've had is stretching for lack of light before I could afford to buy the 400w MH.

Regular, full-out nurseries usually sell the extra pots (sapling trees came in) for about $.50 each and I haven't needed to re-pot anything yet. They were started in March (minus germination) and started flowering on 4/15. So I guess I won't have to until revegging some.

Well I am always thinking of something new to try. I dont know if there is a perfect way to grow this lovely plant, or a perfect set of nutes, there is so much that you cannot regulate, so you must be able to improvise. I keep trying new things new ways new nutes, new lighting, new seeds, new substrates..
This is for me and my family so I am not pressured by quotas etc. Who knows will come out next? All Iknow that I get better by practice and I learn something new all the time..
(I just harvested a big bunch of potatoes that I grew in a crate!!! Whoda thunk it? A crate! this was new to me and I did ok but next time I am going to do a better job and have healthier harvest for my family!) SO will you and I am anxious to follow your next grow and cheer you on for this one.
May get the best harvest you can. It will only get better!!!!
:) /|\ o<

Janx! i was not knocking miracle grow down, sorry if it seemed that way. Ive just heard bad things about it i guess.

Joe Coffee! Congrats on the seedlings!

fineas! Its good to hear that your willing to try something new. Its just like a computer as the years go on and they get better you also have to update your knowledge and keep up with technology. Same with plants you always have to keep getting better and always try for a better harvest each time. Congrats on the potatoes! i bet it was a good one! Thanks fineas

pan4! Thanks for the info! and tell your wife its for a good cause! lol and that your a leader in the community so you had to do it! lol but yeah man if you have the skill why not go for it and market those babies! im pretty you would have a good sale here with the members i know i would rather buy it than make it. That way i know you made it and its guranteed!

grandpastoner thanks for stopping by!

dutchmasters! thanks for stopping by as well!

Sorry for not being able to put pics up today guys! been super busy lately. but will have them up asap!

No prob....just had to clarify that no one can be right about everything....all the time. I had to make due with what I had access to. My broke-ass didn't have a choice in most of my materials. Oh yeah, I was slightly wrong in my nute specs...it was 30-10-10 for veggin' and 15-30-15 for flowering. Just to be straight with ya'll.

Good luck with those, buddy, they look fine so far. I grow mine outside so the growing period is longer. When I manage to catch up with things not related I will start my journal and we can all swap notes etc.:goodjob:
