New to growing

Ballast arrived today, damn light is hella bright. Wasn't expecting that.

I would let them grow quite a bit before putting them under that much light. When you do put them under it turn your ballast down at first. That way they dont get light stress. A lot of growers on here don't turn them all the way up until flower. If your using it for veg I'd run it 50%-60% then crank her up to 100% or 110% in flower if your ballast has that option.
The ballast I have has a knob with 4 settings... 600w, 750w,1000w and super lumens.
 
I'm running 1 light for both girls, I noticed that they curve toward the light. Should I run a light directly above each 1? Second pic shows how its bending.

Ya I would that way they grow a straight sturdy stem. That's a good sign though for sure shows they wanna grow and reach that light. Looks like she has quite a bit of stretch to her try to get the light as close as possible without burning. You should be able to get pretty close. I have 4 little ones under a 240w t5 ho and keep them between 8-12 inches with no problem.
