Oldmanjj's First Run, Soil

Check out some of the first advertising of that product that hit various sales outlets. I didn't get that off of their site. They seem to have scrubbed that little gem after their marketing department found it. Full spectrum = CRI 100, yet that is what they call their light, and this gives me pause even though many of them do this very same thing. I am glad that it is working well for you, but deceptive advertising shies me away from a product every time. This is also one of the reasons that I support the sponsors of this forum, those companies who have no fear of examination by this community and who have been vetted by experts.
Unfortunately, I purchased all of my equipment before I found this awesome community :(

Ok, another update. Unfortunately, there isn't much to report. The girls are in day 9 of flower and other than some SCROG tucking and regular watering, they are just doing their thing.
I changed the light settings to 80% and the girls aren't complaining one bit. I also started to tweak my environment in prep for the later stages of flower, just to make sure I don't need to buy any additional equipment. Temps are around 70 Degrees in the tent and 54 to 59% RH. My exhaust fan speed is maxxed out at the moment, hopefully when the temps and humidity come down naturally here I can dial it in more. If not I will add a dehumidifier to the setup as my goal in the last 2 weeks of flower is around 45% RH. The girls are really starting to smell and I know it will get worse. The passive intake may be part of the problem, maybe a smaller intake fan along with closing off the passive intake will help. If it gets really bad, I will have to try that.

Here are the girls as of yesterday:

I wish I had set up like this Oldman! I skipped all trellis / scrog supports for this grow and I am in trouble! Looks great so far - subbed!

Flower Weeks 3 Days 4

OK, time for another update. I missed a week due to a nice trip to Florida! While we were away, our daughter took care of the plants and did a fantastic job.
The plants are getting larger by the day and have started drinking a gallon of water every 2 days. Lights are at 100% and that caused an issue. It's also the reason for a further delay. Once the lights went to 100% I started seeing intermittent problems with the GFCI receptacle they were plugged into. It was fine for a bit but, over time, the GFCI kept tripping. It's weird because that GFCI is on a separate 20 AMP circuit. I will have to do some troubleshooting. So, last night I ran to Home Depot and installed two new 20 AMP circuits with new GFCI outlets.
I removed the air conditioner as it just wasn't getting the RH down where I wanted it. The dehumidifier is doing a decent job keeping up but now my temps are getting too high. 80-82 with lights on. I'm going to have to re-commission the AC unit. This time it will be placed outside the tent. Stay tuned for the hack job that will turn out to be!

Here is the plant porn!

Time for and update!

4 weeks and 3 days since flip.
Water only, no nutes or additives. I top dressed the girls today 72 oz. of fresh soil. All seems normal (to me). I was a little worried last week, we opened the tent to a nasty funk smell. It's was coming from the Chocolope and seems to have mellowed out as she gets farther into flower.
We have done some defoliation but have tried to keep it to what is necessary to allow good airflow and light access for lower bud sites. Some bud sites that wouldn't make it to the canopy were eliminated. Those bud sites were quick dried, rolled up and given to my kid. Report is that, yes it get's you stoned and the thought is it will be really good when fully mature.
One of the girls is showing some problem signs (hence the reason for the top dress). It's the power plant and just to be sure, I checked the flower time from the breeder - 7-9 weeks. I'm not sure if this is normal or the sign of problems. Hopefully someone more experienced can take a look and offer their thoughts.

Here they are:

To my untrained eye, it looks like both. I don't have any CalMag but that can be easily fixed. Guess a trip to the hydro store is in order. I don't get a great discount a the closer one but, the dude that runs it grows and is familiar with my soil mix so hopefully, he can give some good advice.

Based on the problem solver, it could also have been a pH problem, I found myself getting a little lazy and the pH in my aeration can got a touch high (3-4 watering's). Not a lot but was testing at about 7.1 and the soil calls for 6.5 to 7.0. I have been watching that much closer too.

@StoneOtter Here are some better pics.

3 Bud sites, all on one plant, 2 are high on the plant and the other is a little lower, maybe about mid plant. This is the only one out of 7 in the tent showing these signs. TIA.

Maybe it's like @Emilya told me early on, I may need some CalMag?
Definitely calcium... add that calmag. Calcium is not mobile in the plant, so the deficiency will show up top where it is being needed... it can't be stolen from other areas and moved into place.

Ok so, me being me, I also asked the soil company their thoughts. Here is what they wrote:
"From looking at this picture it almost looks like overwatering. By how the plants look burned on the tips and are browning like the soil is burning them. Also check your lights, another thing that could cause this leaf damage is lights too close or too bright. The leaves also look drooped, which could mean over OR under watering. Most every issue with these mixes comes back to watering.

Before adding anything try decreasing the amount of water they are getting. Also the days in between watering could be too few. I have seen this before with pots that where never allowed to dry out sufficiently. I would back off watering until they are bone dry.

The odds of the plant being deficient if its in the soil are slim. Unless the pot size is too small for the plant/environment, and that plant has been in that pot for far too long. What size pots are these currently in? Also what size pots are you vegging in?

The only thing we would ever recommend adding is Compost or Worm Castings as a top dress or foliar feed. Any Teas are very beneficial. Or any microbes are very beneficial to the soil. I doubt adding Cal/Mag or any other nutrients would do anything but further burn these plants.

For the most part you caught the problem soon which is good. Those plants look good, we will diagnose the problem and you will finish strong!"

Hmmm, now I'm really confused, any thoughts @StoneOtter @Emilya ?

Not terribly sure it's overwatering. They get the same water, 1 gallon every 2-3 days depending on how the soil feels. We test the weight of the pot, stick fingers in it above and below to determine. Usually they are pretty damned dry when we water.
