T8’s for flower?

Hey everyone,

I just wanna post this question for a buddy of mine. He’s got a little room set up with 3 - 4’ T8 fixtures, two bulbs a piece for a total of 6 T8 bulbs. He plans to keep his canopy within the area directly under the fixtures.

now, I know t8s aren’t great for flowering, but he has no budget and he already these lights. My question is, has anyone around here flowered out under T8s? And what kinda results can be expected, assuming the other conditions are good.

Like any grow with minimal light

His results won't be as good as with better lights, but ultimately, his grow experience will be even more important with minimal light

Thanks for the response Chris. Do you think it’s worth the money if he were to replace a couple of his blue spectrum bulbs with the warmer red spectrum ones?

i definitely would for flower. i grew under t5's in the early 80's

He’s only done outdoor, but they turned out great.

what kelvin ranges are ideal for flowering?

So if he has say, 3 2700k bulbs and 3 3500k bulbs, that’s pretty much as ideal as he can get?
