Volksball's Second Waltz With The White Widow, 2019

He actually only adds the cal-mag to get the N to balance the added K that comes with the silica he's trying to add. It's messy because of the K that comes with the silica.

If you decide to lose the cal-mag for the next watering I'm sure you don't need to flush them. Just get some runoff and you'll be fine.

@MrSauga or @farside05 can tell you if your ratios are off with the 5ml/6g feeding. I don't have those spreadsheets handy like they do :).
Yeah, that was sort of my rough science. Full flush, reset medium, they can handle the CalMag without any fear of buildup or lockout. As you've said, if I feed to run off next, I should be able to push through any excess or unused Ca, Mg or N. Let's see what the others say to it. I was just hard pressed to back off of it given the results of the last week, but I suppose it's still an option with little risk given the flush. Like I said, rough science.

6g MC and 5ml Cal-Mag shouldn't harm anything. Its not that the ratios get so out of balance as to cause lockout. I use a Silica product and use it and Cal-Mag to balance to my targeted N-P-K ratio of 2-1-3. That ratio I got from published tissue sample results so I've tried to mirror it so I'm feeding as closely as possible to what the plant desires.

Thanks for weighing in. Yeah, I was going on our pre-flush conversation where you seemed go feel that what I was putting in should work fine.
I woke up to a couple of them praying this morning. Can't be a bad thing...

...or maybe it can. Nothing is what it seems anymore. Ha.

like this? These are my plants less than an hour ago.

It is called lift, not praying... and it IS a very good thing. Anyone who says differently is clueless.

Yep. Similar to that. One was already showing that yesterday, but two are now. These are a couple pics from the one yesterday.

Happy Sunday, growers..

Four days from flush and feed w/CalMag and things are coming along well. Early results are positive. Have a look. Sorry about some blurry ones.

Buds are getting dense on a couple of the plants and all are building well. Yoyos are in for some. Some at a slower pace, but that's been the case for a couple of the plants. I think there will be some serious density on a couple.

Under carriages look better, with less yellow, if any at all.

Thx everyone.

Hey friends,

I like the early results I'm getting from the 5ml CalMag/6g MC, post flush, but am aware of possible build up/lockout issues.

To avoid buildup, does it make sense to feed a gallon of tap water first to all pots, then feed them their regular 2.5gal of feed to keep the medium clean? Or is that too much medium stripping? I was considering doing this on all feed days going forward. I'm guessing there are 6ish left, as they get fed about once a week.

Thanks,
V

ProMix guy said every fourth watering.
Ah ok, thanks. So every 4th, do a complete flush like I did? Im guessing that I have about 6 feedings left, so that would work pretty good near the end of flower. It would leave one or two feedings before chop.

Maybe then, as you've suggested, I just feed them 3 gallons of feed each and get a good runoff to keep the salts moving.

All of that makes more sense then?

Not a complete flush, just some plain water first and then nutes. Good runoff is what you're after. @farside05 does something similar.
Oh ok, so just a good runoff using tap every 4th watering. Would I do a complete flush again then? Given the few-ish feeds I have left

I would have thought that a good runoff would be good for every feed like I suggested above. Less salt buildup. Just more fresh nutes. 3gal of full feed, instead of 2.5gal to get a decent runoff every feed.

I don't think you will have any significant buildup between now and harvest that would require a full clear out.
Good to hear. That flush was laborious. I'll just feed to good runoff and keep things fresh down there.

Hey guys,

Last minute decision on the last feed this past Tuesday and one pot today, to lose the CaMg and go up to 6.5 MC. Two days later and things seem ok, but what's two days..

Buds are stacking really well on a couple plants. The gate keepers.

You'll notice one of the plants is showing a bit of purpling. This is mostly under the plant's section with the heaviest exposure to light. The rest seems fine. Doesnt seem too concerning or moving quickly. Ideas?

Day 89/29F

Thx
V

Nice job Volks! Things are looking right on track and the old man on the bag would approve at 6.5g :)
Thanks! And here I thought I was the only one who aspired to make ol' Cleatus happy.
