Hey guys

bit stumped as to what’s going on with my plants..
bottom of the plant seems to be nice and green but the top seems to be yellowing. Few of the lower leafs are curling and odd leaf has rust spots.

strain: white widow X big bud xxl
feeding 1.0 EC (reason being they had a massive salt build up a few weeks ago but they were flushed through) with canna a & b and calmag
Ph 5.8
Light - 600w hps
Coco with perlite
Feed to run off

attached some pics

any ideas? Really want to flip them over but worried cause they aren’t looking the best

Well 2 weeks down line and still can’t get them to pull round! Tried flushing them, tried letting them dry out but they just seem to be holding onto water in the roots for a long time!
they are still growing but don’t look good. Leafs are dropping, but have slightly coloured up but not much

changed the hps lamp, changed the pots to fabric ones, bought a new blue labs ph pen, changed everything just about..

At a loss now, stating to think do I pull them out and start again or keep trying to pull these round.

no signs of bugs etc. Heads battered with it all lol

hello gain :)

you dont let coco dry out , it has to be kept wet so there is no large hot spots and dry pockets , coco doesn't hold on to nutes hence feeding lightly 1 to 2 or even 3 times a day @ ph 5.8 it also holds oxygen so wont drown the roots that quick ,
post up a pic of natural light with full plant as knowing where on the plant is having problems will be easier to get an answer ,
what is you water source ?

Should Coco always be wet?
Ideally, coco should not need a dry / wet cycle like a dirt grow. When it drys out your ppms and ph can get out of whack, it should be thought of more as low tech hydroponics.

posted some photos mate, sorry for posting them in separate posts, just trying to make it easier to identify plants.
really appreciate the help.

water source is tap water but I have low EC water at 0.3, never had issues with it before

I’ve always done it so they have a wet/dry cycle in veg to help promote root growth?

couple of them are really dry atm but I’ll await your reply before I do anything

thanks :)

they look hungry now and thirsty ,
feed 1/2 strength veg nutes as slowly as you can< ( maybe with some calmag ) ph 5.7 , soak the life out of it, let plenty run through the bottom , you really want to soak them as coco goes hard as a brick when dried

you want the pot as heavy as you can get it now

the coco drying out part even gives me butterflies in my tummy , dry roots can be a disaster too , i hope soaking them in fresh food at the right ph helps them
dont put them under any strong lights for a day if you can

Thanks mate, I’ve soaked them. Most took 6l of water in 20l fabric pots...
Should I feed every day now?

fed half nutes, with a ph of 5.8

they are under a 600w hps, should I know it down to 250w (lowest setting)

thanks

Hey Rocket, rules for coco are different, it’s not soil it’s hydro. Stick with Nutty Professor - dude knows what he is talking about.

I think you should feed weak nutes every time but please wait for The Professor confirm what ratio and how often etc... he will get you sorted @TheNuttyProfessor

thanks for the reply mate, just want them sorted so they can go in flower :(

fed with 15ml per 10l of a&b, 10ml of calmag, some rhiz and some solar green.
I thought they had been over watered hence why I let them dry out so much. Prob done more harm than good

The number one rule for watering coco is that you should always provide enough nutrient solution to each plant to produce 10-20% run-off. That means that if you add one quart of water then 10-20% of that quart should end up as run-off. Run-off water plays an important role in maintaining healthy conditions in the root zone. Therefore, you need to always get run-off no matter how much water you must add in order to accomplish that.

daily or up to twice daily , depending on how fast they drink , you added perlite so your looking at twice daily
