Auto Purple Kush x Hash Plant Outdoor

I’m a little late but I thought I’d do a quick grow journal, I’m growing 7 autos in my back yard 5 of them we’re just transplanted into 5gal fabric pots and two into bigger reg ones I had lying around. I had to make a hard decision and transplant the second week into flower due to rootbound issues and thankfully they bounced back immediately and are looking great again. Plants are 1, 1/2 months old and planted in a mix of pro mix hp, worm castings, bone meal, guano and kelp meal, this is a completely organic grow not because I’m a hipster but ferts are pricey and I use them for the indoor grow (5’x5’ tent, 1000w hps, 6” fan & Carbon filter etc) I do in the winter so I’m not killing myself running the big ac unit through the furnace along with the tent lol

This is my second time growing this strain, last year it did extremely well here in southern Alberta with temps in the upper 80s / 30c producing about 2 1/2 ounces a plant with only about 9 hrs of direct sun if that, this go around seems a bit behind but it’s a fun way to enjoy the summer.......

Here are a few picks from last season, looking forward to buds like these however the smell was soooooooo bad as soon as I turned down my block it was obvious someone was growing.

My autos were so rootbound you could hardly see any dirt so I made the decision to loosen the twisted and wrapped tap roots at the bottom of each plant and I could feel the ripping and breaking while I was doing this! Not sure if I got lucky, I did use superthrive to water after and it’s only been 4 days and they are exploding with growth and smell! I have a HUGE Pitbull that walks the fence and detours any would be thief to think twice, pretty soon they come in at night as well. Now that things are legal here and more & more people are growing more will be getting ripped of, my 16 year old daughter told me some kids at school go through back ally’s looking for gardens to rob so I’m on my toes.

But I live in a state that allows you to defend yourself on your property. Anyone comes by uninvited, they get a shotgun to the forehead.
Ahhh are u a Montana resident ? Here in Canada you can get sued if the burglar stubs his toe on some uneven flooring.................... there looking at implementing a protect home and family law now, hope it goes through

That’s my pet peeve, people stealing stuff.

I am from MT. And you got me laughing about the uneven floor..
Also whenever I repot I try to loosen the roots as well. If you break a few roots you should try to take some leaves off to match. You can safely remove 1/3 of the roots and it will come back. Pretty resilient weeds they are..

Hey Danarano fellow Canadian but growing in Ontario outdoors, I do work in Alberta however. Good choice doing autos, the grow season ends short in Alberta. I dont know about south but we get snow pretty early at work most years. I also worry about punks and theives robbing my plants, youd think since its legal people would just grow their own. Every toker should have plants in their yard, its our right to grow!

Well I think I have two photo period plants with my autos........A little history on my seeds, a good friend grew purple Kush auto’s from true north seeds and pollinated a few of the lower branches with a fem hash plant he vigorously stresses into herming, he did mention this could happen but so far (few grows with these seeds) it hasn’t. Out of 7 plants 5 are going into full flowering stage and two have not but are showing pistols all over. I don’t really mind to be honest so far this is a lot of fun lol I may just end up building a cheap little greenhouse or bringing them in at night for protection against the September / October frost.

The buds are frosting up!!!! Can’t wait for the purple colour to kick in, also anyone have a way to keep the smell down outside ? It’s early and already getting pretty bad.....

Things are getting pretty hairy. :) I dont think there is much you can do for smell outdoors, theres no way to filter it.

Lol ya, I was thinking maybe a plant with an off smell that could neutralize it a bit but found nothing online. My family is coming out for a visit at the end of the month and we usually spend most evenings on the patio, there not smokers and I’m sure I’ll get a few complaints lol

The soil I use went on sale today at superstore, picked up 1/2 a pallet lol loaded up the truck box. I’m good for the winter and next summer! Pretty pleased with myself. This soil after adding a few buffers and some extra perlite has been tits for me.

Plants are doing very well the Photoperiod pheno’s from the hash plant side are getting huge lol no signs of buds yet so it should break up the harvest which I don’t mind at all. The autos are putting out some solid bud structure and beginning to fill out, they Still have a ways to go.

Insanely hot out, 36c but feels like 40c with the humidity ! Leaves started to taco so I moved them in the afternoon shade and misted with cold water and they seem to be better so that’s the schedule for the next 2 days until it gets back to more manageable temps. The two photos are now in full bud so I’m really happy about that. Just using plain water so I don’t stress during the heat.

Buds are starting to fill out daily, turning into rocks. I’m actually pretty surprised with only about 8 hrs of direct sunlight a day but it’s working and I’m not complaining. Smell is pretty obscene my Neighbor an older gentleman who is retired and spends most of his day gardening politely brought it to my attention today, keep in mind there right beside our shared fence. I mentioned I could relocate them if their a burden but he insisted there fine and asked if he could come over and take a look which I quickly responded “let’s do it” he was blown away lol told me there ALOT different then what he grew in the 70s lol had his wife pass us a beer I offered to give him some at harvest but he declined, said it’s a young mans treat lol. All in all I feel a lot better considering it was obvious the smell was in there yard as well, hopefully it doesn’t get much worse.
