Best light source for seedlings

After a seed has been germinated and it has been planted, what is the best light source to try to get it to sprout? I have read the daylight CFL's are the best.. But you would think that a MH would be better? Wouldnt it? I mean of course, if you raised the light up some.

It can sprout without lighting, but you will have to add light after its above ground, And I always Like to keep mine under cfl's for the first week.

Unnecessary waste of electric, add more light to the flower room if you want to get the best use of that energy.
