This started with AC cobs and bollx waste of time? I think!
Now I have more heat and light than hoped for/wanted!! The heat was anticipated , soon as I tried one for a few seconds. The light is acceptable, certainly ant dim with the 20- 38v constant drivers. Brriiight

I'm botching the cooling for now ! I'm hoping to have 2 x 200w chips in each old skool open reflector hoods. The cheat will be where I literally put them into HID air cooled hoods until I get some heat sinks and diffuser lense set ups. Still. The raw lights excluding the air cooled hoods are going to be: 4 X 100w drivers@ £7 each. The non brand DC cob chips were less than£10 for 4 . The reflector hoods are about£10 each two of them. Call it £65 with the solder and thermal paste. Lenses and heat sinks are going to blow this price range well beyond double. But if I have a reasonably fair 400w cob set up I'll be happy . Obviously I don't expect to leave the cheap cob chips in indefinitely. Unless they really do well. The drivers will be another feature of suspicion as well. They're all cheap.. So I will make like a tree. Leaf.
