Cannabis infused alcohol?

I normally do not drink any booze but I've used this recipe three times now with really good results so that got me to thinking the other day... I've used it but mostly it just sits as it will take me forever to drink it. I'm afraid to drink with all the meds I take but will try to sneak a shot in once every blueish moon. It's great for when company comes over. So here's the recipe from our family cookbook.

"Chokecherry Liqueur
Use a 2 quart sealer of berries (not quite full to the bulge of the jar); 2 1/2 cups sugar, 26 oz. vodka. Shake every 2nd day for a month. You may use any kind of fruit you like."

I've used chokecherry, sour cherry and cranberry all are very good with chokecherry being my favorite. I would love to try coffee beans but that's for another time & place. Also the vodka can be of the back shed variety.

Anyway I was thinking why not try a cannabis cocktail with the same recipe? Has anyone tried something like this and what were the results if so? My last harvest was piss poor so I would be trying it with sugar leaf if I do get around to doing it at all.

Any thoughts on this idea? Is this just sweet oil without evaporating the alcohol? Would it be any good? Double wammy - booze & boomba? Decarb first?

Yes I did think about adding some fruit for flavor, pineapple sounds good.

Also yes any clear alcohol will work.

Is the sugar necessary I wonder it is very sweet like a schnapps. Do you know if your buddy used sugar in it?

I will ask and get back to you on it.
I want to say no and that he was going for a margarita taste

The more I thought about this the last few days the more gross it sounds. Basically it's oil and we prefer a fast wash as opposed to soaking for a month. On the other hand this pineapple tequila sounds delicious.

I'm thinking the only way this might work is to do the fruit thing but use only 1 nice bud in the mix, decarbed may possibly be the best way to go. Also I know not why but lemons, sugar and 1 bud might be a good combo.. just something I've been contemplating.

I said I don't or rarely drink this is true, I find I'm using it a lot for cooking... I think I got drunk from the cranberry French toast I made the other day. I best pay better attention to how much I use. Sour cherry spaghetti sauce was good too.

Your chokecherry liqueur recipe is very similar to my aunt’s recipe she passed on to me before she passed away. I would make it in the fall so it was ready for sipping on in the fish house, just like she told me it was intended for.

I have never drank anything like that but it sounds very tempting. It should be introduced in the textbooks about how to help an alcoholic - give him weed and he'll replace it with a more addictive substance :). I think that my conscience won't let me spoil nice weed with alcohol. I mean someone spent their time growing it so I can smoke and instead I brew it lol. All in all, having read this thread I won't settle until I try at least something that was described with so much passion here. Plus, it must reduce the speed of getting drunk considering all that oil.

A friend and myself made a mead (honeywine) that we added weed to.

The weed is decarbed and added to some overproof vodka, or Graves (one ounce of weed to eleven ounces of alcohol). Let sit in a mason jar for three months. Strain it out and add the alcohol to the mead.

It hits you fast and like a runaway train.

I have been struggling with substance abuse for over five years now. Now I'm not a fan of such recipes, whatever they may be, because it doesn't bring me any health benefits.

I have been struggling with substance abuse for over five years now. Now I'm not a fan of such recipes, whatever they may be, because it doesn't bring me any health benefits. I had big problems in the family; I broke up with my wife, and the children didn't want to see me anymore because of alcohol abuse and sometimes weed. I am now undergoing specialist treatment at the clinic Medical Detox - Monitored Drug & Alcohol Detoxification under the supervision of doctors. I feel much better, and now my biggest wish is to be with my kids.

Thanks for sharing your story and I can't imagine how difficult it has been.
I'm grateful to have walked away from alcohol at a critical time before it ruined my life. Now I don't even think about it and even seeing people drink on TV just makes my stomach turn at the thought of how many times I paid a lot of money for the privilege of being hungover the next day...yuck!
