Defoliate or not? Outdoors

I’m at that point where I see quite a bit of hairs on the new growth. What’s the consensus? Do you defoliate like indoors, or on a different level??

A lot of growing chat is “indoors” so I’m not sure about outdoors. Thanks

BTW....the plants are photo and I am in Northern CA

Only as a mildew/budrot preventative imo.

Thanks for replying. I should also clarify that out of 6 plants, I would only defoliate one, a blue dream. It’s ridiculous how much the plant leaves . I don’t feel it let enough light in plant.

Agreed.

I'm also in N. California (Bay Area). As the sun moves across the sky, it shines on the plant at different angles so most all leaves are serving a purpose. I only thin the insides of the plant for better air flow and to remove smaller (popcorn) bud sites.

Im in Seattle area always have out door girls . in my opinion strip leaves small bud sites. Better air flow more light = bigger flowers less larf . but that's just me lol . last years harvest.

Piggy backing on my post, what are the thoughts on taking off a few leaves a day, here and there as the sun doesn’t get in to plant. Jus Wundrin

Here's a pic of my White Widow. I just gave it a light pruning yesterday. I'm pretty conservative when it comes to pruning.
