Drain to Waste: Coarse perlite or Happy Frog

I am thinking about using 100% perlite in a drain to waste hydro set up, but I have never done it before. I am mainly looking forward to lighter pots, and hopefully faster growth.

I have used Happy Frog a lot and know all its idiosyncrasies. I also don't like how heavy it is and how often the soil needs to be flushed.

I can get 4 cu. Ft. of each for the same price so debating. I will be using the same nutrients (GH FloraNova) both. If I had to mix any ingredients into the perlite, thenot the Happy Frog would be cheaper, so I am only considering straight perlite.

Perlite. Hydroponics. Win.

CocoLoco Rocks, weak enough to support seedling growth, and can be watered several times a day. also, can take dryout periods, just not bone dry. very forgiving. PH to 5.8 water
