Email notifications for new posts are only sent by default for threads you have posted in or set to "Watch", since the last time you visited the thread.
For those of you missing the old subscription method of receiving email notifications for every post reply in a thread, you'll be please to know we have added this feature back.
The default setting for this feature is off. To enable it and review your preferences, go to https://www.420magazine.com/community/account/preferences

Persistent Alerts Enabled
If enabled, you will be alerted/emailed (based on your settings) for every post in a watched thread as long as you have no unread alerts for that thread. If disabled, you'll only be alerted for new posts since the last time you viewed the thread.
This will allow you to keep a close eye on those threads which are particularly interesting or important to you.
