First Grow

Today I join the ranks of the new growers out there. I spent the last month or so growing an NYC diesel Auto which was a miserable failure. So I hope I find the support and mentorship here to really accelerate my learning and hopefully end up with a nice bunch of plants to enjoy.

Here's what I have going so far:

1 Cantaloupe Haze from DNA genetics
2 Lemon Skunk DNA genetics
1 NYC diesel autoflower crop king seeds (experimenting with LST, started couple days before DNA seeds)

First and foremost this is a closet grow
Growing in starter Promix soil
1 fluorescent bulb over the new seedlings
150W HPS over my previous failure of a Grow
A temp and humidity meter
BioThrive Bloom plant food (for later on)
A fan to exhaust heat ( I plan to buy a couple of smaller fans to create proper air circulation in a couple days)
Humidifier as my average reading is usually %15 without the humidifier.
I plan to line the closet with Mylar this weekend

This is what I have, however I am in desperate need for mentorship, any advice on how to proceed or alter my Grow closet and LST training would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully one day I'll be able to help another grower in my position.

There's some odd looking spots on those leaves not sure if it's anything to worry about

I'm new too so I don't want to steer you wrong, but there's a section in the grow room that has helped me identify problems... or help quell my paranoia. Good luck!

Well it doesn't look like your dirt has enough perlite
That looks like heat spots from light but may be wrong
I would have put them in 70/30 happy frog/perlite already
Are you using hps for photos?
If so that can cause stretching

A quick update on the girls, my older NYC diesel Auto has been topped today and repotted into a larger container alone with some root stimulant, the other DNA genetics are growing nicely, will also repot and top once they have about 4 nodes.

I'm gonna add some more perlite to my soil and coco mix, as for the lights im using a 150W HPS about 30 cm away along with a fluorescent light much closer to the plants. Things seem to be going well so far

Looks good so far, you said these are autos right? Its usually not a good idea to uppot them because of their short lifespan. Also the 150 hps wont have enough coverage for 4 flowering plants.

Only the NYC diesel is an auto, the rest are feminised Lemon Skunk and feminised Cantaloupe Haze. I figured I'll need a better light but I'm not too sure what'll be the best bang for my buck. I'm on a pretty tight budget what do you think I should invest in? I know I won't be growing no more than 4 plants at a time possibly a few clones from these guys. My space is also relatively small about 60x60cm

An update on the girls, looking good so far. The Auto is really blowing up with growth now as it was germinated earlier than the others.

Any idea on how to further LST the Auto? Many of the top leaves are completely over hanging the bottom leaves not sure if that should be a concern. Maybe pony tailing ?

Doesn't seem like anyone's following this journal but here's an update anyways for any browsers out there. First 2 pics is the feminised Cannalope Haze by DNA genetics, next 4 are the 2 Feminised Lemon Skunk by DNA and finally the last 2 is the Auto NYC Diesel by CKS which is living all the LST, got a nice number of tops going on there.
As always any more tips and advice would be appreciated especially on the LST I'm doing.

Happy Easter
