Hello all, This is my first grow for medical reasons. I'm growing RQS Stress Killer in a small tent with a 300w LED light 18 on 6off, one 6" fan and a 6" inline extraction with a filter. She's 23cm tall and very bushy. I'm using Shogun Grow, Bloom, Calmag and Silicone nutes. I have a few questions to ask and would really appreciate any advice.

I've had a look through the forums and can't see answers to my questions, apologies if they've been asked before.

-Is this the start of flowering? (2nd pic)

-If it is flowering, is it time I switch to 12/12 turn the bloom option on, and start using bloom nutes, shes only 23cm tall, but growing taller everyday.

-I'm growing in Canna TERRA Pro Plus, I've read this is a not really soil and not really coco. I'm watering once a week when the pot feels light and feeding nutes every time. Shes starting to drink more, so should I add nutes every time with this medium?

-The tips are darker green then the rest of the plant and slightly curved, is this to much N or am i being paranoid??? (3rd pic)

-If I should start using bloom nutes, do I have to flush the soil with plain water before starting the bloom nutes?

Thanks J

Yes, plant looks great. light is the key to healthy buds. One can give an auto more than twelve hrs light, and the buds will thank you for it

I am not sure it is 'necessary' to switch the light pattern at all but lowering the light amount slowly will surely do no harm

Thanks nivek, I'll leave it at 18.
Good man.
Im experinenting at the moment. I start all my plants at 24h this is all personal prefererence though (def more than 12h though as u now know it aint needed). I like keeping my girls short, stacked and trained like bruce lee. So ive got one just reaching flower now and a few seeds just popped, so im leaving it on 24 to finish off this girl then ill notch it down to 18 for the next girls once they hit flower and compare the buds at the end.
Welcome my friend!

Thanks Bilbobudkin420 , interesting to see how the experiment goes, which grow is it? Shes really bushy too, I'm not sure if i should start training the lower leaves so the lower branches can get some light, think I'm more likely to damage her! Thanks for your help

You're welcome Jiddle. Love gang 2.0 in my signature mate. I wont tell you to do anything that you are not comfortable with. I am a big advocate of heavy training, topping, stripping you name it. Only just started doing it with autos but from what I can tell they are the same as photos as long as you dont over do it and stunt them thats the big difference.
At the very least id say go ahead and train some leaves, if one breaks trust me it is not the end of the world. I strip my fan leaves a looot.

Hi. I use that grow medium. It is very good as is your air pot. The main thing to know is that you PH the water at 5.8 in veg and move up to 6.0 in flower and 6.2 late in flower. Let it dry out before rewatering like a soil grow.

Soil conundrum

I learned a lot from the above article.

Something on topping/training. Too late for topping this time. Topping and training
Never too late for training.

HI Jiddle :ciao: I like your avatar pic!

Heaps of excellent advice here already, and the plant looks really healthy :yummy:. Just thought I’d throw in here that a lot of growers who specialise in Auto flowering varieties swear by a 20/4 light cycle so you could get a bit more size with that i think. And also, Autos can put on a lot of growth during flower - I had one that more than doubled in size during flower, and not just flowering stretch, new branches. So those tips above about some quick training while that’s happening are the ticket :thumb:

Report back about it wont you!

:Namaste:

Hi Amy Gardner, thanks one of the more colourful birds we have.

OK thanks that's sounds really good I'm hoping shes will get a lot bigger! Should i slowly increase the light each day or can i go straight from 18 to 20?

I'll get training and update the grow asap.

Yes, but.

Start at 1/4 strength and work your way up to 3/4 over a couple of weeks. Go to 100% if they look like they can tolerate it. If you think it's too much then alternate feedings with plain PHd water. The overwhelming majority of screw ups involve too much. I use canna nutrients. They have very good documentation on what and when. I'm not familiar with yours. You should have something for the veg phase and flower phase.

I assume you have a PH pen and up/down. Correct the PH after you've added the nutes to the water, stirred it up, let it sit a few minutes and stir again. I usually make enough to last 2 to 3 waterings. Check the PH before you water every time. Water slowly until you get some run off. Let the pot dry out between feedings. Get use to lifting the pots to know how much water they have. I'd also buy one of those shitty pronged water detectors. They detect moisture as wet, damp, and dry. Stick it into one of the bottom holes on the side to gauge moisture. Those pots create a very thick root system, so half way through flowering it takes a lot longer to water. You just have to do it slowly.

I strongly recommend you keep a journal that at a minimum documents when you water and with what. If you don't write it down I guarantee you will forget something basic.

my system,, get a calendar,, hang it on the wall and use it to track everything,, work out a system of shorthand you can use to get all the info you need in a calendars little daily box

I'm at about 50% strength at the moment, no signs of any burn and shes still growing strong. I've being careful, I read too much is a lot worse than not enough!

I do have PH up/down, i usually make each batch at a time just in case shes has a bad turn. I think i might be watering to quickly as she always slumps after watering and i put it in pretty quick.

I keep a record of my watering, PH, nutes, PPM etc, I'll do an update soon.

Notice the smell is starting to get stronger as well!
