First Time Grower Here! Royal Gorilla Autos

Hey everyone! I just joined today. Quarantine led me to a new hobby, so this is my first grow, of anything, ever.
That being said, holy crap there is a lot to learn but also so much information here on this site, so thanks for that!

So, I have a 24”x48”x60” tent, carbon filter/inline fan 188CFS (ordered, not here yet, USPS lost it), mars hydro TS1000, hygro,
fan, humidifier, etc.

I got 3 royal gorilla auto’s from RQS and germinated in peat pellets with a dome. They went in Wednesday night and I had 2 sprouts this morning, one hasn’t done anything. Temp is about 78F, RH is around 70%. I have the watts turned all the way down on the TS1000 with it about 6” above my seedlings, lux is around 4800-5000. Going to run 18/6 schedule then xplant to 5 gallon fabric pots with FFOF with about 20-30% perlite. I will probably just use FF nutes for veg and flower. Sounds like I have a couple weeks to get that together. Any tips, tricks, or constructive criticism will be gratefully accepted. Look forward to talking to you all and happy to be here!!

Hi there,

nice to meet you sounds like you know what your doing.

your soil has nutrients built in make sure you don’t Feed nutrients too early. Also your light seems rather low. They say 24 inches above plants height.

also with auto’s. they don’t like a lot of nutrients.

I’m growing in soil using canna terra professional soil. Didn’t start my nutrients till round about 3 week mark. I started of quarter of the dose first feed then gradually worked up. Again you could shock them.

your temp and humidity is good. As they get older you need to drop the humidity.

peace and love

thanks for your input and reply! I actually raised my light this morning. I had seen lots of people using those low watt fluorescent or LED lights for seedlings, really close to the sprout for several days. I got nervous and raised mine back up to about 18” this morning before work, although the cotyledon were looking fine, no burn or bleaching. I worry about them stretching
I def plan to do the other things you mentioned, like 1/4 strength nutes and wait 2-3 weeks. Seems like one of the most common teaching points in everything I’ve read...newbies overwater and overfeed. And will be dropping humidity slowly, to around 40% once flowering.

again, thanks so much for replying and giving me tips. The more the merrier!

after seeing how nicely organized the other grow journals are, I now realize I could have made this more presentable with better info. Sorry about that, just busy! ‍♂️

Not that anyone is following this, but, sorry for no update in forever.

so 5/24 was sprout, making today #24 above ground. I’d say things are going decent. I went 5 days without watering bc they looked fine and the pellets went into 5gal smart pots so they had plenty of water. I noticed a tiny bit of dropping and soil was dry a few inches down/pots were getting light (weight) so I watered with 1/4 strength FF big bloom 2 days ago (21 days).... local shop was out of growbig when I got the big bloom but I have it and the tiger bloom now. But I kind of forgot about a small plant in a big pot and put just under 3L into each pot. Unfortunately, I noticed some clawing after this but they seem to be perking up. I think it’s time for calmag but now I’m stuck bc they are full on water. as mentioned before, I started off with water with much too low of a ph as a rookie mistake, so I think it stunted one or both. One is quite a bit smaller than the other, very compact. The other had better node spacing.

I did start some LST today. I think I forgot to take a pic of the second one after LST.

cheers!

Well done . They are doing fine. Pact on the back. The one that you said was stunted will bounce back and be a tree in no time.

Nice LST training just take your time doing this. Don’t use any wiring that will cut in to the plant.

god bless peace ✌️

thanks so much for the positive reinforcements! Pretty excited to see a stretch at some point. Def seeing a few tiny white pistils

Gave them their first dose of big bloom, grow big, and calmag yesterday, at about 1/4 strength. Gave them just under 1L each. They are looking good but I feel like they aren’t doing a whole lot, not real gaining any height, just getting more dense with leaves. Quite a few bud sites I can’t get light to

Hobbies are awesome. And your gonna get good results with that light. U can do 4 plants with that light if you LST

Another feed today at 1/2 strength with FF trio (minus tiger) and some calmag. Did another since 3 days ago was just 1/4 strength, and they liked it. Prob just ph’d water in a few days.

Took some leaves off the other day and they already seem full again...just pulling one leaf here and there to expose hidden bud sites. Do I do another LST at some point? One is pre flower and one isn’t showing any white pistils yet. I don’t feel like my branches are long enough to do another training yet.

Also, anyone ever seen leaves come out like this one picture? Half is bright yellow and half green. I think another did that earlier on but changed to completely green. Just looks cool. The other pic is just showing how fast the foliage built back up.

cheers friends, thanks to the few following along!!

Hello there, I’ll hang around for the show if you dont mind. Plant looks happy, thats just new growth, I wouldn’t worry much about that. Less is more when growing cannabis. What’s your light schedule right now? Happy growing!!
Hey Freak! Thanks for stopping in! Just running them 24/0 at about 18”. Cheers pal!

I’m off to check out your journals!

Plants are still looking good. One is way ahead of the other...showing preflower for probably two weeks now, and no signs of preflower on the other. I’ve decided to just let the one that’s lagging behind to go au naturale...untied her and stopped pruning. At about 4.5 weeks above ground.

Hope everyone is having a kick ass week!:ganjamon:
