Flower trimming

Hi there.

I am wondering wheather its ok to cut top flowers at 8 weeks but keeping the plant going an extra week or two for the bottom flowers to bulk up/mature more? I know that you have to consider not cutting too many off or the plant won't bounce back. Thats correct yes??
Cheers.

Staggered harvest is what you are referring to……. taking the top colas while mids & lowers continue to ripen...

however it will help to drop a pic of the plant in question just so we can gauge it based on pistil development. The majority of growers here use jewelers loupe or wifi mini microscope to view trichome colors for determining ripeness for harvest. Trichs change from clear to cloudy to amber as the plant ripens, trichs are more accurate but we can still tell a lot by the pistils

Hey @TasTHC Welcome to 420magazine.
As @013 and others have stated its a common practice.
I personally like to let the whole plant finish then turn my lights off for 24-36 hrs before harvesting.
Led's actually degrade trichomes.
So letting them rest in the dark gives you larger more resinous tric's to harvest.
There are many ways to get to the same goal.
What ever works for you is what's best.
Throw up a bud porn pic if you get a chance.
Stay safe.

I've done it twice now, wasn't super impressed with the result, I didn't see or notice any real change even tho they were left for another two weeks - it is entirely possible that I just took too much and shocked the plants.
I tried it a few times. I felt that the lower and smaller buds did not really grow any larger but they did get a bit more dense. The extra time of having to wait those two weeks did not seem worth it for a baggie of buds that weighed an extra gram.

Not waiting that extra time meant the next plant was under the lights that much sooner.

Hi!! As noted, pic would help but if it's a small plant, just harvest...I feel only larger plants benefit from staggered harvesting..also if your bank says 8 weeks...I'd add couple on there...is it a photo in 8 week flower or an auto at 8 weeks total? Best bet like @013 mentioned, grab a loupe and shoot us a pic...that's the only way to really now where you're at.
