A lid of weed

At one time or in my area or era a lid referred to a 1/4 jar of oil. The lid of the jar measured up to the 1/4 jar mark. I still have some stashed away somewhere ill have to dig them out probably still some full ones. Tobacco at that time was in either plastic (tins) containers or pouches. I also have a collection of tobacco tins not sure how many are left.
:hmmmm:

The other size was a matchbox, a 20 match matchbox stuffed full, $2.
We did not come across matchbox sized scores. It was either a 3 to 4 finger baggie like you mentioned. When money was tight it could be a 'half ounce' or 2 finger bag.

I can still find matchboxes on the shelf at the market. Finding a box of books of matches, well, that is getting rough. Maybe there are so many people that don't know how to use book matches that they had to stop selling them.;)
