Harvest time?

if you don't have or cant get one the best thing you can go by is the hairs
80% red is about there
if not maybe you can get ahold of a magnifying glass
just don't let a strong light shine through it
the weed will smoke itself lol

Hi greenhorn,
Firstly, when you bought your seeds there would have been information as to how long they should take to flower, usually 8-10 weeks. This is a general guide for perfect scenario, but plants are individuals and can differ slightly from the stated flowering time.
Your buds will follow a certain growth pattern which you can follow to determine when they are ready. After you first change the photoperiod to 12/12 for approximately three weeks the tops will stretch and the buds will begin to form, when stretching slows the buds will get larger. About two weeks from the end the buds start to show you signs that they are approaching maturity. These signs will be that the white hairs turn orange or brown and begin to pull back into the calyx bracts, along with a noticeable swelling of the calyx itself. When, according to the stated flowering time you think they are nearly ready you can start looking at the little trichomes with a magnifying glass or jewellers loupe to judge an average percentage of trich colour. When the trichs have a cloudy colour and about 15% amber, they are ready for harvesting. You can however let them go another week for a heavy stone and a bit more yield without much risk of the plants forming male flowers and creating seeds. If left much longer the plants will form male flowers as a means of continuing its life cycle in the future.
