Indoor 4 x Black Russian - 400W MH/HPS - 1st Indoor Grow

Looking good but i'd back of the nutes a lil and get you PH between 6.5 and 7.

The clawing that on some of the above pics are overdose of N and the bottom leaves are probably nute burn but most likely the start of a cal-mag def with the low PH'ing you've been doing...

Ph chart

Awsome graph !! thanks for the help

I will try to raise the ph a little higher. If I adjust my water/ nute solution to 7.5 do you think it would do the trick ?

regarding the N overdose , how can that be ? i'm using bloom solution which is very low on N... just curious !

You don't see it from those pics but most of the leaves on each plant have the tips turning a little yellow/brownish. Is that a sign of nute burn ?

Here are some pics of the tips, kinda hard to see in the pics under the HPS. So if this is nute burn can I just ease up on the nutes or do I need to flush ? ... I have been adding nutes as per instruction not more not less. This seem to have started with the addition of the Ionik PK boost.

This one show some discoloration also, could this be N deficiency ?

If its not a N overdose, its probably because of you Ph, get your enviroment and cultivation practices to as near optimal as possible and you'll have few problems...

Anyway your plants look healthy and i'm sure your going to get a rewarding harvest.

Regarding the pest problems it seems like springtails which are not harmfull... I will keep researching and keep a close eye on things. I have fed plants with some peroxide hopefully it will help.

Anyone had this problem before ?

Update: flowering day 30

After visiting the hydro store I bought some cal/mag supplement.

After speaking with the store attendant for about half an hour ( he has over 20 years of experience growing and 13 year at the store with his products) he mentioned I am deficient and not feeding enough. He mentioned Ionic nutes are not that strong, are good for beginers and it is hard to over do it. He mentioned I should be feeding bloom solution every time I water. I am only feeding once a week.

so this week the plan is to :

-add cal mag 4ml per l
- feed bloom solution with every water (wednesday, friday)

I will see if things improve or get worse and go from there.... kind of conflicted with the mixed info. The attendent seemed very experienced with those products and I know I am not giving the plants more nutes than directed by Ionic. so time will tell !

One of the 4 plants is very different than the others and I believe it's a different strain. the leaves are a different color, leaves are smaller, more bushy, shorter... The trichromes are turning amber and is maturing ( about 40% amber all other plants have 0% amber trichromes). Looks like this one is a 6 week strain... I will strop feeding this week and start rising and feeding with water for the next 2 week. Here are some pics , let me know if I am wrong and should wait some more before stoping to feed ... also any idea what strain this could be ?

Do you have a microscope to check out trichcones? Cause I was wondering how long you were planning on flowering? I go off of trichcone color. if they are clear they don't get you high, mostly milky you can get that sativa head high where you will still wanna go do shit but your brain feels lifted above your shoulders even further than normal, but I like to go mostly amber colored to get that melt into the couch high! What do you think you prefer?

I don't have a microscope , but I have a magnifying glass. Do I just look at the color of the hairs or do I need to look closer then that ?

I plan to harvest the one that is different in 2 weeks and the other leave them flower for 8 weeks.

Do you really see a big difference in high ?? If possible I would like to have some that is sativa like high and the rest fully mature. Maybe I could harvest 1 plant while they are still milky color and wait for the others.

Right! its your preference and the only way to find out what you prefer is to experiment. But a magnifying glass isn't going to be enough you have to look closer, the best view is around 100x. You will be looking for penis shaped structures, not the hairs, these are the crystals that your plants aren't really showing a lot of in these pics but they will. This all you really need is exactly like the one I use, no real reason to go all out unless you really like science and want something that will last. If you take care of things though I have had mine for 3 years now and the batteries are just now going out.

Update: flowering day 37

Buds are getting thicker and thicker, Things are starting to frost up nicely :D !

Although I am still having some issues. many leaves have symptoms but not all leaves. This is happening on the 3 big plants. The smaller one is not showing any of those signs. on most of the leaves that are showing symptoms the stem leading to the leaf is turning purple. PH runoff is now 6.2

I have fed more this week, less leaves are turning yellow and colour seems to be better but some issues still developing....

here are some affected leaves. There seem to be a few dif symptoms...
Any idea what's wrong ?

Just a thought don't hold me to this, but your plants are very big and they might just be become root locked in the pots. Your pots look big but that is a monster plant with just as many roots. Like I said just a thought but root lock is a reason I don't grow soil just another thing to worry about. Nice bud porn man I wanna see those colas swell!

Help !!!

I have insects :s

I am not able to attend my girls someone else is taking care of them. He noticed insects today in the ground. The came up when watering!

- white / greenish
- look abit like tiny worms but jump
- very small
- no sign of leaf damage so far

What could this be ?

NOOO not good, those may not be springtails!!! i just had those kinds of bugs in my deep water culture resevoir that fell from my mesh pot they were infecting my roots. thier little off-whitish colored worms. if you have worm looking bugs and not bugs with legs and big antenas then those are root aphids and they SUCK ASS. theres a solution but arent you pretty close to harvest?

I was once told to make a solution of tobacco and water and spray it on the plants, that the nicotine in the tobacco can kill most bugs. Just a thought. If they are in the dirt then I don't know what to do.
