Not shure, 4 clu cobs better spread and maybe more efficient.

1 vero, still efficient enough for a single plant and far less struggle/cheaper to build. It will cover the entire footprint even with reflector on

Maybe penetration is better with a stronger light source

CLU is more efficient at lower currant than the Vero29. Vero is more efficient at higher currant.
On a driver vs driver comparison 5 CLU's use around 180w on a HLG-240h-c1400. 5 Vero's pull 250w on the same driver. Won't know the efficiency of the CLU until I get my hands on 5 for a side by side par test. As it stands the CLU runs a lot cooler and uses less power.....but what is the output?

Should say i would either use 4xClu 1212 4000K gen 5. 35V on a HLG240/1050 or one Vero 29 SE gen 7 3500K 72V on a 150/1750

In both cases my goal would be average 100W during flower

I just ran some tests on the HLG 240-1750 and 4 D series Vero SE. The 1750 doesn't seem worth it. You only get an additional 200 μmols and in consumes 212w vs 198w on the Hlg185/1400. Plus there's about 10% dead travel on the pot on the 1750. I'm going to run the same test on the non SE (Gen 7) chips. They're slightly more powerful but I'll post the results on my PAR test thread. So far the HLG-185h-c1400 is the clear winner for running 4 Vero SE COBs. 98% load...running in the top end of the constant currant region.

I'll just use some parts that i have while i'm not using my wardrobe. The single vero se C should be dimmable from 0 to ~120W on the 1750, right? One plant, 1,75sqft footprint and maybe max 100W during flower.

Running a C on a 1750 is running at test current. Gonna get pretty hot. I run 2 on a HLG 185-1400 and get 98w per cob on 2 Bxrc-40e10ko-C. This is the build.

They're warm but not hot. This is the same setup as Timber. I'm getting 3900 μmols at 8" (an insane amount of PAR!) with reflectors on. Don't quote me but I think the C series pulls 118w at 1750.

Shouldnt there be the same amount of heat watts when i use the one C at ~1400mA compared to two D at 1400 if i pull the same wattage and LM/W? If i remember right the 3500SE at 98W should still be pretty efficient somewhere over 150Lm/W. Got to check on the data sheet again. I'd start with 60W and raise it later on.

The Clus i have are 153Lm/W at 1080mA.

But all guessing and just on paper. I think there wouldnt be a big difference in efficiency between these 2 chips

Cool thanks. Pretty efficient. I doubt the gen 5 clu reaching that point even down at 25W. That made my decision.

Dim that down to 1050 mA and you get 183Lm/w. These are all white paper specs at @ 25°C. Real world will obviously be different.

Unfortunately i dont think shes going to stretch enough to fill the entire net...

Found a pistil or 2 barely but i already knew it was a female..

I fed yesterday 2 gallons.

I have been feeding alot more than i usually do but the plants seem to love it and without burn.

Id like to mix up a gallon of AN and a gallon of this nectar to show the difference in ppm of the 2 solutions

The ppm was around 450 going into my soil yesterday. At full recoomended dose from the feeding schedule. If i remember correctly AN wouldve been at least double that at full strength...

So it took 12 days for the seeds to arrive at my door from attitude.

I had a range of emotions opening the package.

Excitement turned to confusion and anger quickly i paid the 9.99 for the discreet random item for it to be shipped in.

Maybe i over thought it..




Id love to put all of them hell just a single one in the dirt.
But i have some special plans for every one of these seeds so ill have to fight the urge.

I know the first few ill be dropping tho when i do

BlimBurn granddaddy purp

And theres still so many more to choose from lol

Ill be doing taking clones of each strain and doing 2 separate grows 1 for bud and 1 for seeds.
From there ill just run clones of the original until i get tired it or want to try another.

In which case ill repeat the same process.

End game being having a ton of fem seeds for each strain.

That should take a while!
But considering it goes as planned ill have a pretty cool collection of seeds to last me FOREVER!

ill get some pics up of the tent soon. Visible pistils now so things are looking great!

My color temps on the 4 outside cobs are 3500k

The 1 in the middle is 3000k

It is noticeably more red. I figured that 500k difference would help come flower lol

So far its doing very well.
