this is the wrong time to be so stingy with the water... you need to be showing the main tap root where to go and you need to be enticing the side roots as much as you can. The way you do this with seedlings is to spray 2x a day in a circle 3x the diameter of the plant. When 3x the diameter of the plant is the entire container, water the entire container properly for the first time, to saturation. Then and only then, start the waiting for the plant to drain the container between waterings. Once you have watered to saturation it might take 5-7 days for the plant to drain all the water... so at 3 days, just to keep the plant going strong, spray again around the base of the plant to about 2 inches deep, and spray around the edges of the cup to make the edges the wettest places in the cup... this will entice the roots to grow laterally towards the edges, helping create a fast start at filling that cup with roots.
