My nephew and I are about to start our first grow

My nephew and I are about to start our first grow and we are NOOBIES with some knowledge and a lot of heart. We have a 24x48x60 tent and 2/300 watt full spectrum led light panels. We are planing to grow 2 plants with LST process, we have 3gal & 10gal smart pots. The questions are, how many plants can we actually grow this way in our tent and which pot size should we use. The strains are Northern Lights (fem) and Bubblelicious (fem).

4 comfortably. Depends on how you grow them. You could grow 12 low flyers (16-20 inches tall) producing a few ounces per plant or knock of a massive 2 plant scrog and pull in a pound per plant. What are you trying to get out of it?

4 then with a few toppings should do you. Since it's your first grow follow the K I SS method. You don't want to make it too complicated and you'll need to follow a very basic system to get you excellent results.
Are you growing in soil?

How are they going to pull 2 pounds with 300w of light. Please teach me I must be doing something really wrong lol

What does wattage have to do with yield? Wattage is a unit of consumption not a measure of PAR value. I consistently pull in 420-440 grams per plant of Kush strains per plant and almost 700 grams per plant of BC big bud and my LED panels only draw 183W per panel. In fact, looking around this site I see several people doing flux grows that pull in similar amounts or higher. .

With the led he mentioned you still think that? I mean I am still newish to leds I just don't see it. Who do you follow for results like this. Seriously interested and always ready to learn as I'm getting nowhere near these results. Thanks!

Would love to see how big your plants are and how long you veg as well as any other info you would be willing to give. I would love to increase my yield as my quality is superb but my yield could be way better.

Most of my grows take around 14-16 weeks. I use 10000 lumen Vero 29 COB arrays. My veg cycle is usually 6 weeks from clone. Plant height is around 2-3 feet with scrog or flux. There are many videos on YouTube showing LED out performing HPS. YouTube search "Vero 29 vs. HPS"

Isn't this from your feed? 24 OZ = 680 g. = 1.5 lbs.

Correct lol. But two of those would not even fit in his tent. I see what you are saying but you are growing with 29 cobs and are obviously a good grower with great lights. I just don't see taking a mars hydro compared light and producing near these results. But I can be wrong and have a lot to learn.

I agree. I had a older Mars 2 and had problems with the diodes burning out. Huge difference between COBs and 3w diodes. But he should get 1/2 p per plant with a longer veg. But let's not confuse him. Last thing he needs is to be discouraged. I wish LED companies would rate their panels on PAR value instead of this stupid "equivalent watts" nonsense.

So back to the original question.
Easiest way. You will need....
-ProMix premium all purpose soil mix
-solo cups or seedling pots
-large planter or planter bag
-Earth Juice Grow (organic)
-Earth Juice Bloom (organic)
-Calcium/Magnesium (Cal-Mag)
-Sulphur free Black Strap Molasses
-PH/Moisture meter probe
-PH Pen.

Important!
-Keep the soil loose. Never ever compact or compress it.
-Keep the soil dry. Never over water. Never saturate the soil during veg phase. Use the PH/Moisture probe. Keep it in the soil at all times. Buy one per pot if necessary. They're cheap and invaluable to to your Grow. Keep the moisture between 3 and 5.

-Keep lights on 24 hrs for veg

Start the seeds as recommended
Once germinated transfer to 1/2 solo cup of soil.
Add no nutrients at this point.
When the seedling get this tall transfer them to the larger pot. Bury them deep to promote good roots and keep the plants short.

420-magazine-mobile674152094.jpg

A week after transfer start using Earth juice grow use 16 drops EJG per litre of tap water. This will give you a PH of 6.5 if your water PH is 7-7.1. ProMix AP is very high in nitrogen so go easy on the nutrients.
You want high nitrogen for veg and NO NITROGEN ADDITION during bloom.
After 6 weeks switch the lights to 12 hrs light 12 hrs dark. Start using EJ Bloom at this point. Same as before. 16 drops per litre should give you a PH of 6.5. Adjust your nutrients using the PH pen to 6.5. Always keep PH at 6.5. Always correlate this PH with the PH reading on your soil PH/Moisture probe. Keep it at 6.5.
2-3 weeks after switching to 12/12 buds will begin to form. At this point start using Molasses (1 tablespoon per gallon of water...adjust ph accordingly)
At this point your plants will begin using A LOT of water. Keep that moisture reading steady.
Use Cal-Mag if you notice any spotting, wrinkling or early yellowing/fading. Consult people here if you notice any problems. Ask for help. Don't try to solve problems with excessive nutrients. More is not better.
After 6 weeks of Bloom you can prepare for final harvest. Feed the plants straight water (flushing) PH adjusted with PH down as necessary.
Harvest, trim and wash your plants well before drying.

Good luck. Happy growing.

I keep everything at room temperature and around 40% humidity. I cool things off at the end to promote colour. I use LEDs so heat is never an issue. I know lots of ppl that struggle with high temp and moisture from using HPS lights. They always have the same problems. Mould, fungus, burned plants, overwatering and evaporation issues. I don't understand why some people think cannabis it a tropical plant. My weed has to pass a Canadian government lab standard for my patients so I have to be extremely careful about creating conditions that create Staphylococcus aureus and white powdery moulds. which is why I always wash my plants extremely well before drying/curing.
