how can i test my ph tester to see how off it is? i had a cheep one given to me and i want to know how accurate it is. thxs for all input

take some water to a local hydro store. They will test it for free. Then check to see if your tester reads it the same.

we dont have 1. i do have a fish tank ph tester. think it would work like that? its the ph tester that has probes on it.

My $5 soil tester from home depot works in water as well as soil. So if you know your fish tanks PH yeah just stick the soil tester in the aquarium. It does not always register right away. Youll wanna keep it in there up to 10 minutes. After 10 minutes the reading will be where it wants to be.
Compare that reading with your aquarium reading.
Sorry I cant think of something you may have in your kitchen that has a consistant PH that is spot on or else id just have you test that.
