Quiet air pump options

So I recently bought an eBay knockoff of the general hydroponics waterfarm kit, which runs off an air pump. I finally got it set up today and have come to find the air pump to be extremely loud. In sure a large pump is necessary for powering an 8 bucket waterfarm kit,, but has anyone seen anyone run 2-3 smaller, quieter pumps instead of one large loud one? My other thought was of building a box to put it in to muffle it, but the cooling fins on the casing tell me this thing might get warm and that might not be a great idea?

I have the GH dual diaphragm air pump and i hear the waterfarms and fans over the air pump... To me it seems fairly quite.... But what do i know, to me a ticking clock in a quite room is extremely loud.... Big plus, you can repair that pump in 5 min, and they run for years....

How much are these pumps on average if bought online or ebay?
