How long can you keep seeds before they go bad? And what is the best way to store seeds?

Hi there Double O.I've kept seeds 2 to 3 years and they were fine..I keep them in a small glass jar in a cool dry place..never had a problem in 25 years storing seeds..that's all I can say from my experience.
Everyone probably has a different answer. .

I'll see if I can find it for you, but there was/is? a guy on here a year or so ago that grew out some seeds he either sent or brought back from Vietnam in the early 70's. If memory serves they were like 42 yrs old at the time. I don't think they all germinated, but seems to me at least some did.
