Going to give this a go and start a journal!

First things first!

This is an Indoor grow
STRAIN: Auto Blueberry from i49
Indica dominant hybrid - not sure the ratio
THC 19-21% CBD 0-1%
Flower time 8 - 10 weeks The first 2 seeds popped out of the soil on Feb 23rd. I just germinated 2 more and planted them Mar 1. not showing yet.
MEDIUM: straight CANNA COCO. no perlite. amended with 70% gaia green all purpose 4-4-4 and 30% gaia green power bloom 2-8-4
FERTILIZER/NUTES: GAIA GREEN ORGANIC. All Purpose 4-4-4 and Power Bloom 2-8-4.
3 Gallon smart pots
LIGHTING: Electric Sky ES300watt LED.
CURRENT ENVIRONMENT: I built 2 rooms inside of my furnace room in the basement of my home. TEMP: light on - 79-82f. Light off - 69 - 70f
RH: light on - 41-45%. Light off - 35-37%
WATER: Dechlorinated tap water - EC: 110-112ppm. PH: using citric acid crystals to ph down to 6.7-6.8 (tapwater is 7.8 - 8.2)

I hope I have enough info posted above!

As I said above I built 2 rooms inside of my furnace room for growing instead of going with a grow tent. I have fans blowing on my LED light for cooling and since the rooms are just under 4x4 it seems like I have good air movement. Im not really happy with the humidity and temp yet. I think the temp is a couple degrees high and my humidity is a bit too low from what info I could gather. I have been watching you tube and reading alot on this forum which has helped get me on the right track. Some fine tuning to do now that I am up and growing.

I bought an ITC temp and humidity controller which is working great but I think my humidifier has seen better days and is on the list for replacement in a day or 2. I would like to see closer to 50 - 55% . I did install a bathroom fan in the ceiling with a rheostat control, But when I put it on low to bring down the room temp the humidity drops as well.

The seeds were soaked in tap water for 8-10hrs then moved to a moist paper towel for germination. Out of 5 seeds only 2 germinated. i49 sent another 5 seeds due to a "bad run" and I just germinated and planted them yesterday Mar 1. Waiting to see those pretty heads pop out of the coco soon! The first 2 seeds popped up FEB 23. So as of this writing, 7 days old now!

I have a couple of concerns that I am hoping arent an issue but in the pics posted you can see the edges of a couple leaves are slightly curled up. Also the leaves have a slightly mottled color to them, light green with faintly lighter spots (almost yellow) very slight, you have to look close.

I did plant the seeds into the 3 gallon pots instead of going smaller and needing to transplant. I have only been watering just around the plant and not the entire pot. Not sure if I am possibly underwatering or not. The water is PH to 6.7-6.8 dechlorinated tapwater.

Looking forward to having some expert advice here. Really impressed with the grow journals and other info I have been seeing on here!

Cheers and happy growing!!

Hello everyone.

Been watering the seedlings at 6.5ph for just over a week now. I did do a pot soak at 6.0 just after I started my journal but the plants did not seem to like the change from 6.8 to 6.0 so I worked back up to 6.5. I am using gaia green organic amendments and not chemicals...........the fella I'm following has been Mr canuck on you tube and he explains that going to a more acidic ph mixture can damage the microbes when using dry slow release organic amendments.

I am wondering now if the seeds are causing the problems with the mottled colors on the leaves and twisting and warping. Not the soil or fertilizer I'm using.

I did start getting small brown spots on the leaves on one of the plants right after using 6.0ph. I'm not sure if this was from the change in ph from 6.8 to 6.0 shocking them or not.

I was told by the seller that they had a problem with the seeds and they did send me 5 more of the same strain, but it looks like the 2 new seedlings are having the same issues. Pale green with pale yellow mottling on the leaves.

Hoping the pics are clear enough to see the yellow streaks on the older plant and the coloring on the seedlings.

Looking for ideas! Cheers!

The 2 larger plants are 21 days old today. I started LST yesterday. First time trying that. I have been watering at 6.5ph with cal/mag for a week now and I think it's making a difference. Plants are looking better and starting to grow faster, and the stem is getting much bigger.

The smaller seedlings seem to be improving now also. I did top up the pots with coco right up to the cotyledon leaves and did a light top dressing with amendments ,watered in.

I am thinking the plants were calcium deficient. Adding the cal/mag really seems to have given the plants a boost.

I noticed yesterday that one of the larger plants at 21 days old is showings pistils already? This is my first autogrow, I wasnt expecting them to show pistils for another week or 2? Is this normal??

Welcome Sketch , l noticed the watering . Have you been to Emilya’s thread to check out the (proper way to water a plant) . Once you get to her site look on her page high lighted .
Have you gave them any cal-mag ? RO water or tap water ?

I wasnt using cal/mag until a week ago. The brown spots and warped leaves got me thinking calcium problem. I am using dechlorinated tap water. I fill a bucket from the tap and let sit for 24hrs with an air pump/air stone to oxygenate. Using 1ml cal/mag to 1 liter water ph to 6.5. 375ppm on my TDS pen.

I am still seeing issues but they aren't as bad. This morning the leaves looked a bit droopy and are curling under now. Not warping and no brown spots anymore. Still trying to dial things in!

You should be fine, but I never see them water on the plant . They water away from it to build your roots make them grow to the outside of the pot . Bigger the root bigger the bud !

Good point. I will read her thread on how to water. Thanks for the help!!
You’ll be happy you did a lot of great info ! InTheShed and Stoneotter, I’m in hydro learning soil and coco I have one plant in soil hp promix and a hot soil kicking my but , but these growers are keeping me alive .

Been struggling some with the dry amendments and have flushed 2 of the 4 plants I have growing so i can switch over to bottled nutes. I went with AN sensi grow coco.

Been having issues with slow stunted growth, warped, clawed leaves. With the advise I have gotten on this forum I think I can turn it around going to daily watering at 5.8-6.0.

I have the temps and humidity steady now at 73-75 f and 61-62%RH. Dropping to 68f and 53% during lights off.

You might be watering too much ! I wished I knew more about coco! They sure have grown in the last week! 1-800 Smeegs does coco check this grow out go to journals in progress.@Smeegol

2 large plants are 30 days old. 2 small ones 22 days old. I have now flushed all of them to bring the EC down into a safe range and they seem happier. I am watering at 5.9 with low dose of sensi grow coco nutes with half dose of cal/mag.

I am watering daily to runoff and checking the inflow and outflow EC. 3 plants are now in the correct range when comparing in and out EC. All within approx 100 difference with outflow being higher.

My largest plant is doing the opposite. Its showing lower outflow EC by approx 100 the last 2 waterings. Not sure why.

The large plant is now showing signs of flowering at only 30 days old which has me questioning the quality of the seeds I received. The first batch of 5 only 2 germinated, and only after almost 5 days with the moist paper towel method. The 2 smaller plants are from the new batch they sent me.

Here are a few pics. The large plant is still showing dark green curled tips, but on a few leaves the have actually straightened out flat.

Temps are 75f 62% humidity lights on. 68f 54% lights off.

Things have been getting better with the issues I have been having in the last week. I have been monitoring the Inflow/outflow ppm/ec and trying to make decisions based off of the difference in the 2 readings.

The one thing I'm having a tough time figuring out is why my 2 largest plants are showing lower runoff ppm/ec readings than the inflow. Both plants are showing high ph runoff readings also. 6.98 and 6.87. The other 2 plants are showing slightly higher ppm/ec runoff readings and the ph is lower. 6.32 and 6.52.

My pppm/ec I flow vs outflow difference is well within the 300 that cocoforcannabis says is ideal so that is making the plants and myself happier. Feel like I have some control now.

Am I correct in thinking the larger plants are consuming more nutrients, maybe needing a higher dose? Could the higher ph readings be because the plant is eating the nutrients faster than I'm adding them giving a higher ph reading in the runoff??

I'm no expert so I am thinking many things and guessing. Seems funny all 4 plants have different ph runoff readings

All the leaves are standing leveled, good fix . I’ve been lucky my girl in soil run off was 6.3 but the EC is 2.2 on the Hanna scale but little Nute Burn ! InTheShed and Stoneotter once they get to your point of growth it’s 100% nutrients and that’s what I’m doing! My hydro is different at 50% nutrients of the manufacturers suggested dose. Like I said it looks like you locked in on this grow!

The 2 large plants are in flower. Watering at PH5.78 ppm780. Using advanced nutrients A+B bloom, and big bud. 37 days old. My humidifier hardly runs now. Plants are maintaining room humidity at 58-60%, temp with light on is 71 - 73f. Light and one fan off temps dropping to 63f and humidity raising to 71%. I may need to turn up the extractor fan or get a dehumidifier.

Getting excited now that they are hitting flower time!

Day 41. Of the 4 plants I have growing, all 4 look and are growing completely different. All are blueberry auto from the same source.

I have the runoff ppm very close to inflow ppm. Within 100. 3 are fluctuating between negative and positive readings from day to day but always less than 100 points difference. I think that's good from what I have read and from info I find on the good old internet.

BUT....my largest plant has become very dark green and a bit shiny on the margins of the leaves. Thinking I have nitogen toxicity happening with her. She seems to have slowed a bit in her growth. The other 3 are the same color and seem ok.

I have been watering only once a day as I dont have time to water more than that. I water you approx 25 to 35% runoff. Using tap water at 114ppm base to start. The 2 large plants get 2.5 to 3 litres each time. I mix in a 4 liter jug. 4ml calimagic, 8ml AN big bud, and 8.5ml each of A+B Sensi coco bloom. My ppm is right around 800. (780-810). My ph after mixing is 6.8. I ph down using citric acid Crystal's to 5.85 - 6.0.

Since I have switched to synthetic nutes AN. and gotten onto a regular program my runoff ph went from just over 7.1 down to 6.2 - 6.5 across the 4 plants and has stabilized right there, it fluctuates up and down very slightly one day to the next but is stabilized. I think that's good!???

They all seem to be growing good but the large plant is much darker than the others.

Should I cut off the calimagic? It does have nitrogen in it and so do the base nutes. Am I double dosing the calcium, mag and nitrogen doing this?

Here are some pics this morning. The 2 large plants are actually 42 days old not 41. 2 smaller plants are 34 days old and I just noticed they are showing pistils and are going into bloom phase. I will switch them over to the AN bloom nutes going forward.

One of the leaves looks like it's been chewed up but I dont see any bugs anywhere? Not sure what caused this?

I’d keep doing what your doing! That tap water at 114 ppm your lucky mines nearly 400 ppm ! I put a White Widow in hp promix with Advanced Nutrients. When I mix the nutrients the ph goes to 5.5 on the Connoisseur nutrients. When I do a run off it comes out 6.3 to 6.5 !

So how do you mix your nutes if your starting at 400 tap water? Do you only add 200 to 300 ppm of nutes to get your 6 or 700ppm or whatever your target ppm is?

I am not sure if you add the base water ppm on top of your target ppm or add it in. Ie. If your target is 500, is it 500ppm of nutes plus your base water ppm or a total of both together to get 500ppm?
