Sketch96 Coco Auto Blueberry Grow Journal 2019

So how do you mix your nutes if your starting at 400 tap water? Do you only add 200 to 300 ppm of nutes to get your 6 or 700ppm or whatever your target ppm is?

I am not sure if you add the base water ppm on top of your target ppm or add it in. Ie. If your target is 500, is it 500ppm of nutes plus your base water ppm or a total of both together to get 500ppm?
I bought an RO filter for my hydro it’s 7.3 ph at 10-15 ppm ! I buy the gallon water from the store it’s 6.3 ph with a 30 ppm for the hp .
It’s solids but what are they , I’d add them together! It would be easier for you to keep up with . That small of ppm I’d never us ro water I’d do just what your doing appears to be working just fine . I would keep an eye on your ppm of the water weekly for a while to see if it verys !

The grow is going well. Had my #1 suffer some nitrogen toxicity but I believe I'm on a better track now with nutes and water. I was trying to kill them with love and was pumping the nutes too high. She really got dark green and the foliage was crazy thick.

Today I decided to defoliate
15552042538774726820903553125174.jpg
and get some light down to the lower bud sites. Not sure if it was a smart thing to do this late in the game with an auto flower but it's my first grow so i decided to experiment a bit.

Of the 4 plants i have they all look completely different to each other. Again I'm thinking poor genetics.

#1 and 2 are 7 weeks old tomorrow, 3 and 4 are 8 days behind. All in all at this point I'm pretty happy with all the LST training there are alot of bud sites happening.

I backed off on my nutes from approx 775-825ppm down to 500 to 550ppm. All 4 plants look better after 4 days at this lower level. I was over doing the nutes and things were going sideways. Lesson learned. Ph is 5.9 to 6.1 and I also have been adding very small amt of Epsom salt to the mix - approx 75ppm.

The temp and humidity have not been quite were I would like at approx 69 to 72f RH 50 to 52%. Little cool and a bit high on humidity for this stage from what I can gather. I bought a dehumidifier but it's a piece of crap!

I'm thinking number#1 will be another 2 to 3 weeks yet. The pistol have just started to turn darken, very few. Hoping she packs on some weight!!!

Late update: 1 and 2 are flowering great and I need to learn how to read the trichomes for when to harvest. I did accidentally water number 2 with ph that was .9 higher than normal one day, didnt take long for her to show spots and yellow margins. Pissed her off a bit I think!

3 and 4 went into full stretch mode and took off. Number 4 really took off. Not sure what this means or is it normal? Number 1 and 2 didnt go through a stretch at all really.

Of the 4 auto blueberry plants, all 4 look totally different from one another. And all 4 grew different heights from each other by quite a bit. You would never know these were all the same strain.........bad genetics maybe??

I just added another electric sky es 300. The room was too big for the one alone. Plants are fully flooded with light now. Pretty excited to do the second grow with good genetics. I just bought seeds from Humboldt-green crack CBD, and some acdc CBD from Pacific seed bank. Wife is making cbd oil for medical purposes. I also have 4 different strains (gelato, double chocolate, wedding cake and do si do) from canuck seeds. They came packaged in a limited edition hockey puck!

All is good so far.....the change over to synthetic nutes part way into the grow I think did some damage on my part trying to figure out a new nute schedule and possibly not flushing the organic nutes fully. Definitely caused some deficiencies/toxicity issues. The extra lighting and getting my environment right is going to keep the next grow on track.

Almost week 10 for plants 1 and 2. Both are really bulking up. I bought a jewellers loupe and have been looking at the trichomes, so far not seeing any amber. Learning as I go! Being 10 weeks I thought they would be done already!

All 4 plants I have growing are all very different phenos. I shocked at the difference in heights! Number 1 is the shortest but has the biggest frostiest buds. Number 2 is approx 6in taller but is not producing the trichomes barely at all even tho the buds are getting pretty thick. Number 3 is approx 6in taller than number 2 and is starting to flower nicely.....I think this one is going to be the best of the 4. Number 4 is ridiculously taller than all the plants. It stretched huge and is still growing.........what causes a plant to stretch so much???

I have cut the nutes back to approx 500ec for one and 2 to start into the flush cycle. In a few more days I think it will be time for straight water for a few days and then harvest for 1 and 2. Number 3 and 4 are still a good couple weeks away.

For auto flowers I'm suprised at how long it's taking these to get to harvest. And at how big these plants grew. The tallest one is now just over 4ft tall and all are quite bushy. I'm thinking they really liked LST. I also did a fair bit of defoliation. Didnt seem to slow them down at all! Happy bout that.

Anyway.....happy growing!

Plants 1 and 2 are now sitting in darkness for 2 days waiting to be cut and hung to dry. Both plants had to be harvested a bit early due to us going away for a week. Was looking at the trichomes and I believe more than half are milky looking. I'm pretty sure I saw a few that were just starting to show amber color.

Plants 3 and 4 are now set up on an auto watering system I built. I dont know how they will look after a week of no tending to the ph in the reservoir. Fingers crossed. Both plants are in flower and are huge. BUT I think I light stressed the taller plant as it is foxtailing like crazy. Every bud site is foxtails. I havent seen that before!!

I used a large 20 gallon black tote with a lid for the reservoir. Air pump with 2 air stones to keep the water aerated. I formed 2 rings with soaker hose for watering on a timer. It is set to water 4 times a day. 1st at lights on for 5 min, then 3 more times at 3 min each. Hoping they get enough water with the drip system. I'm worried what the ph will do after 5 days away. Good experiment for future grows I guess!

This is what the 1st 2 plants look like after a rough trim and right before cut down. One plant has nice hard sticky bud, the other is alot more airy and very little trichomes. Not sure why? But happy none the less. Last 2 plants have a couple more weeks I think.

End of the story now. Havent updated since harvest time.

1 and 2 I think I harvested too soon even tho they ate autos at 13 weeks! Total dried between both was 7.21 oz.

3 and 4 were a different story. I let them go until they showed the fall colors fully. They went 16 weeks, way longer than the 8 to 10 weeks they were advertised at!

3 produced 8.95 oz dried and ready.
4 produced 7.15 oz dried and ready.

I added a second light right at the end of 1 and 2 and approx 2 weeks into flower for 3 and 4. They got twice the light 1 and 2 received. BUT #4 foxtailed on me as it was over a foot taller than 3 and the extra light was too intense and too close.

Pretty happy. My wife is making oil to help with sleep and pain. I really was not expecting this much off of 4 plants! We are only going to grow 2 at a time from now on as we need.....and we dont need any for a while!!!!!

Happy growing and thanks for the help to get started! Cheers!
