How Many Plants: x4

Environment: Indoor

Stage: seedlings/VEG

Medium: Aeroponics - seedlings in RootRiot cubes(11 days old), set inside net pots with clay balls.

Lights: 600 HPS cooltube with custom fan inside

Ventilation: 1XL fan OUTPUT(forgot the specs) / 1 Medium fan for INPUT. Both have independent air-ducts.

Nutrients: GHE(T.A) 3-part + Hydrogen Peroxide. Also T.A Cal & Mag for RO water. + T.A Thrive(havent used)

Water: Store bought @PPM=125, pH@7+ / and RO water @PPM=65 - (my tap water is @PPM 800-900)


Grow Method: Topping + LST

Temperature: 25--28C

Reservoir temp: approx 23-24 C

Relative Humidity: 50-70% for VEG

Media/Res PH: 5.5---6.2

Watering: 24/7

I've been a follower of the forums for many years.
Have always been growing in soil, - but i've made an upgrade with an Amazon Aeroponics System.

First time aeroponics/hydro grow!


Seedlings
I sprouted the seeds in a paper towel and put them inside RootRiot cubes in a dome under a CFL for 11 days. At day 11 i put them into the Aero system.

Today is DAY 7. @PPM 310
They look ok. The first few days the leafs were very light, i was a little worried, i gave them a bit more MICRO and 2 of the plants began having a nute deficiency, with light yellow veiny leafs (i think either N or Manganese def.), it stunted the growth.
I flushed the tank and refilled it, Today they seem to be responding well.

The plant on front left has a tiny nute burn on one leaf and hasnt seem to have bounced into really growing so im not upping PPM for the moment..

Also to note, the first 5 days my RH was in the 40%!
I've never had this problem here, i have a dehumidifier because the RH here is always High! but i had AirCon installed into the whole of the house and it seems to have made a huge difference!
Friday i got a Humidifier(2 days ago), and with the RH @ 50-70, the plants immediately sprung more to life.

Lets hope i get through this! --Slow start

I just took off one of the plant covers to have a look at the roots(which there are some) but if you look closely you can see white stuff on the RootRiot cube and the clay. Its literally like a salt.
Is this Salt? should i worry??
Im already using hydrogen peroxide in the Res. , perhaps it would benefit if i would spray some hP on the tops?

As you are using liquid nutrients anything they touch can have a salt residue.
It shouldn’t be bad this young.
I don’t think it will cause any problems.

Whats good all.

WEEK 2 - Day 9
The plants have been doing better. Definitely growing.

But the bottom left guy wasnt looking right today/nor yesterday. I went to open the red lids where the sprayers are and the sprayer was barely turning/spraying... when i unscrewed it, it had a load of whiteBrown silicone like gunk clogging it.

The pumps slip-on filter was caked in slime!! Fcukn disgusting! -couldnt wash it off
Its now sitting in some H.Peroxide, bubbling /turning by its-self in the bowl.

I had a replacement filter to slip on.
Everything took about 10 minutes, the plants wilted down in that time, they are slowly coming up. The bottom Right is looking live.

Ive put in 80ml of hP of 11.3% - this measures @ 2ml per 1L, and my Res. is @40L.
Ive also put in T.A FlashClean @40ml.

I cant get HydroGuard here.


Any recommendations welcome..

WEEK 2 - DAY 10

In the morning i came up with a much better filter solution. those slip on filters are crap, the pours are very wide and the algae/slush gets into it, almost impossible to remove.

Replaced it with this. A mesh filter. should be easy to clean and far more effective!

Also, i made a Skirt! --Its officially a girl!
Around the sides of the top chamber, there has always been a little water comming through(from the sprinklers) and draining down into the Res. And it was exposed to light so.... i think this had an effect on the conditions.

I drained the Res. and refilled it (after using T.A FreshClean overnight) with 24L osmosis and 16L bottled water. +hP, +Cal Mag , + 3part @ PPM 288, pH 5.8
Gonna see how they're looking soon, maybe ill up the PPM tonight.

The ladies are doing well. Little lowryders! (the bottom Left is still very slow, its annoying me!)

I raised the light last night, im letting them stretch now. Considerable growth overnight!!
I would like to TOP/Pinch them today but im gonna wait a little more..


I dropped my Humidifier tank(cheap-ass) plastic tank this morning. It cracked.
To fix it, i milled out the crack to put in some fiberglass/resin, the thing should have froze in 5 minute, it did not(leaked inside the tank) its now been sitting outside 6+hour in the sun and its still not set!! !!

Made a temporary Humidifier with 2 foggers

Im raising the the PPM gradually. Its at about 350 today.

Thanks yea i asked for that also, they didnt have it. Im in Europe on a small island, its difficult to get anything here!
Hydrogen Peroxide seems to be working very well tho!

WEEK 3 - DAY 20

I FIM'ed the girls on DAY 14. They've recovered but are still somewhat slow.
I made a mistake of having the light too low early on, now even with the light 1 meter away they are slow to stretch! They look more like Indicas then Sativas!

They look a bit droopy because i just sprayed the girls and the whole room with some Neem Oil.

Im begining to really like this system! Far more easy to manage compared to soil! and far more efficient interms of water and nutrients! As long as the filter is good and you add Hydrogen Peroxide so there is no alge, its damn easy!

I've put a SCROG net over them on Tuesday this week and have been LST training them.
If only i would have had the light a bit higher from the start, the net would be fuller. Nevertheless for 28Days im pretty happy with the progress!

WEEK 5 - DAY 35

I switched to 12/12 on Day 30 evening. They've now had 6 days of 12/12.
They are drinking Alot! (i hope it was the switch to 12/12, but they ate 100ppm and 16L of water over 2-3 days!!)
