Start of first grow, and have stretching- not a journal

Took 23 seeds soak in cup for 24 hours put them in rockwool--all cracked -- went a week and then 14 died. (Before even starting I read a lot.) I read a lot of information posted here and read over and over DO NOT overwater, Do not overwater--WELL I DID NOT!!! They died because I did not water enough :) lol. So anyway I started again it has been a week and I did not underwater but I overwatered :). So i have stretching, mainly because during germation i soaked the rockwool to much, before inserting seed. So is there anyway to correct the problem, like burying some of the stem, making the stem not as long? I understand that i need to cut back watering now--and i pretty much have, but is there anything else I can do?

Just FYI Strain---Mango 80/20 indica
PPM 300
PH 5.8
Lighting: 2 400 HPS lights

Should have mentioned this--I am using a Drip DWC hydro setup---can i still bury the roots under hydro clay pellets??? Thanks for the replies

If your lights are too far away from the seedlings they will stretch like crazy for that energy!:smokin:
