Ok I started my first grow outsitde on a budget using MG organic potting soil. An in about a week i'll be ready to transplant into 5 gallons buckets. But I want to switch the soil to Fox Farm. My question is can I do that and would it effect my plant by switching the soil to Fox Farm.

No, not at all. The plant will take a few days to recover from the shock of being transplanted but using a different soil won't hurt anything.

I would also agree with Roadlizard 
yep it should be fine, just make sure you let the pot dry out before removing the plant as a dry pot will stop the roots falling apart, so let the pot dry out before transplanting, then you should be ok, i cant see their been an issues
