Would a 20,000+k work for veg

I couldn't find the spectrum chart/analysis online for that specific bulb but overall I would say no, don't get it. Even though yes, it would work, there is way too much green for the bulb to really be maximizing its potential. It also may have too much UV in it for the plants to be cool with, would be great for a flowering finishing bulb, but other than that I would look into a Ceramic Metal Halide or some MH bulbs made for horticulture.

ok thanks i it was an ok price do u know if it need to a differnet socket i ask the company but they havnt got back to me thanks icemud

20,000k means it's going to be throwing almost all of it's energy at around 455nm, which is deep blue. Good for corals, but for purposes here you want the lowest kelvin bulb as possible. Metal halide goes to about 3200k. To get any redder you need to move to HPS - different ballast I believe.

Never had issues with plus-rite bulbs.
