White Widow Strange Growing

So I'm in the the Northeast- USA. Fall time means bud time. No newbie to growing here. Was growing purple buds 30 years ago. I have a white widow growing outside doing well, budding well too. The funny thing is one branch has purple buds, the rest of the plant is flowering white hairs at this point. Anyone ever seen this before? I thought it might be mold but it isn't...just a purple branch. New to me..
