1st Grow Attempt - NukeHead Seeds

LED Guy and GGG i appreciate very much and most likely they probably would. But I wouldn't feel right, to have someone else pay for my stupidity, haha it would bother me a long time, but thanks guys!

Absofuckinlotely WoundedKnee welcome sorry but not much weed porn yet but it's on its way! So I'd love to have ya along for the ride! AU has been on top of my list of places I need to visit!

Good morning Jesse, I have one fully enclosed Grow closet I guess or grow box. It's 4ft x 8ft and 8ft tall. With another identical box that I'm working on right now same dimensions.

Nice sized space! Excited to see you grow em up!

Lol. It would really annoy me to not know which plants are what.

Guess if you get a weird mutant it must be the nukehead strain

I'm just another noob like u trying to soak up all the knowledge on these virtual streets. Whatever little I know i try to share when I can. Every little bit helps.
We're all newbs at something compared to someone. I may for example be a seasoned grower, but a newbie breeder. I'll probably do every mistake in the book before I get it right

Yes extremely irritating not knowing what is what, but I have a new batch going and LABLED this time, will never make that mistake again

Well I germinated 8 and 6 sprouted. I examined the 2 that didn't spout. They had a thicker coating on the outside of the seed, and when removed the Color of the seed is almost black. I scrapped a little more and under the black is the typical pattern you get on a seed. I have pictures but it's hard to make out the color of the seeds but you can see the ones that failed to germinate is quite darker. One is the GDP from Nukehead and the other is a white widow from 420. Both seeds that failed were almost coated or I should say "layered" the same way. Clear, camo, Black, and again camo.

They seem to like the LED over the t5's so pulled out the sun system I had.

Sucks I really wanted the GDP for its purple ness, next grow!

So I got

4 white widow (420)
1 gold leaf (420)
1 nukehead (Nukehead)

Caught up on ya 9 pages and subbed if ya don't mind. It's funny I'm using a tote with yellow lid like that and have had no issues with my roots or reservoir yet...

Hey buddy thanks for dropping in. Yea my roots seemed ok, but a little yellow instead of white. I looked in my container with the lid barely popped open and it was bright as hell in there. So I rather be safe then sorry because plants natural way of growing happens in dirt where it's dark. Good luck on your grow!

You too mate. Good logical thinking from suggestions on here. I'll cross that road if I need to but roots in mine are a nice white and don't seem bothered in the slightest I'll just plug Z7 again and assume it's a big contributor. All the best bud

Ok so here's the quick and easy update on my 1st grow. Don't remember the exact number I started out with but definitely lost a good amount due to my stubborn newbie attitude. I currently have 9 plants left, which is already a handful for a boot like me.

I have 3 in soil, which now is in soil/coco&clay mix because I ran out of soil and didn't feel like separating everything (I know I'm a lazy fu*cker), but for some reason the 3 in soil/coco/clay is growing bigger and taller then the 6 in my DWC set up. A lot has to do with me changing mediums and the array of problems I've encountered these last 4 weeks.

Root rot on 2 separate occasions within weeks apart, water temp in res. was to high, some nutrient burn, some uninvited mites, dropped something on one of the white widows, and knocked over the other gorilla glue in soil. Needless to say I think they are doing OK now.. We'll just have to see.

I got the sm90 and z7 recommended by the great folks here at 420mag and dam it works quick and saved my babies many times, so much thanks to everyone here.

On a brighter note, they are finally starting to pick up the pace! I've topped all plants because honestly, I was just bored of them doing absolutely nothing, but I probably should've waited a bit. As soon as I saw first true leaves I counted 5 nodes and topped them. Some plants didn't skip a beat and outgrew what I cut off but a few seem to be having trouble getting back in the fight.

Soil/coco/clay - 3 guerrilla glue #4
DWC - 1 nuke head, 1 gold leaf, 4 white widow.

Inside temp is 72F +Or- 2degrees and res. temp is 70F +or-3

Just took out the LED 200w and replaced it with a HPS 150w a buddy gave me. So the temp should change. I will update.

PPM is about 650 to 709
PH 5.8 for hydro
pH 6.2 for soil/coco/clay

Ok I'm tired of typing here's the visuals

And one of the white widows seems to be growing funny. It's growing 2 more growth tip from the start. So instead of 2 new growth tip their is 4. Almost like if was fimed.

Don't know if you guys can actually see that.

Also I like to thank people checking up. Honestly I probably wasn't going to post again after the back to back failures but I learn so much from everyone's journeys here, I got to play my part, but thanks for looking out!

Question 1 - let's say I flip to flower when my plants are 1ft tall, am I correct they will be roughly 3ft tall at their highest height?

Question 2 - where do I start to measure the height of my plant from? top of the medium or from the first root?

Question 3 - anyone know the formula for calculating the height I'm suppose to put my hps light at? And while we're here led too?

So I was about to flip to bloom after 4 weeks of veg but I am going to do it after 6 weeks.

My plants in my hydroponic DWC system is about half the size it should be. Compared to the ones in soil/coco/clay. So I'm assuming I am missing some kind of nutrient my soil carries naturally. Here's a side by side picture

On a brighter note on my midget dwc plants the Nukehead seems to be the tallest!
