Nice bull for real.
Lots of deer here but they don’t seem to bother the herbs. I did have cows flatten my whole crop last year though. Maybe this year too. I haven’t checked in almost 2 months now. I caught the corona and am just getting over it.

I think it opens the airways when smoking. I did lose my sense of smell which is good and bad.

How To Make Natural Homemade Deer Repellent
While a lot of gardeners often ask how to keep deer away from their garden, it’s interesting how many others like to invite them over. I must admit, I am one of those who grew up adoring Bambi and would love the sight of deer in the garden. But while seeing a few, especially in spring, is lovely, a full-scale invasion by Bambi and her entire family isn’t exactly welcome. Of course, the best solution is to keep it natural and organic and these homemade deer repellent recipes could just be the solution you’re looking for!
1. Egg And Milk Deer Guard
You Will Need:
How To:
Beat the eggs and milk, then add cooking oil, detergent, and water. Apply the mixture to plants using a sprayer. You can store the mixture in the refrigerator and reapply every two weeks and after heavy rain.
2. Animal Urine Deer Deterrent
You Will Need:
Set a cup upside down, then bore a small hole on top. Tie a piece of florist foam to one end of the wire then insert the other end to the tiny hole inside the cup. Soak the florist foam with urine until the foam has become saturated with the liquid. Tie the cups to the trees and bushes where you want deer repelled. This will be effective for a few weeks.
3. Homemade Deer And Rabbit Repellent
You Will Need:
Mix all ingredients in a blender then pour into a covered container. Let it stand for 24 hours, strain, and mix with a gallon of water. Apply to plants using a sprayer. This can be effective as a rabbit repellent too.
4. Shredded Soap Homemade Deer Repellent
US To Face 100 Years Of Mega Drought!
If you’re not up to foul-smelling substances to keep deer from your plants, this one is good for you. Apparently, deer are averse to fragrant soaps like Irish Spring, Ivory, and Lifebuoy.

While plants such as azalea, apples, pear, cherries, hydrangeas, and rhododendrons are deer favorites, they are averse to herbs such as lavender, rosemary, thyme, oregano, and chives. You can grow them around and near plants which they feed on, or you can also make a garden spray from these herbs.
Materials and Ingredients:
Throw any or all of the herbs into a blender, then dilute with water. Pour the concoction into a spray bottle. Apply the mixture to the deer’s favorite plants for added protection. Herbs are also effective as a pest repellent.

In times like this, it’s really handy to be growing your own garlic and pepper plants and have lots of them on hand. This recipe, which can be effective as an all-around pest repellent is quite simple to follow:

Make a base for your recipe with garlic and red pepper flakes blended in a cup of water. Combine the base with another two cups of water and a teaspoon of liquid soap in a spray bottle. Spray on the plants you want to protect from deer. Again, this could be an effective pest repellent too.

Blend or chop scallions and garlic thinly, then grate the soap bar. Place all the ingredients in a large piece of cheesecloth and tie it up securely. You can also use this as a pest repellent for other common garden pests.

Thanks for the recipes, maybe the Cayenne will work I may try that out next spring.
I'd try the shredded soap, also, since it will probably take several rains before it breaks down entirely.

Funny thing about deer is they become acclimated to human activity very quickly.
:
1 season I saved a whole 5 gallon bucket of pit bull shit and encircled the perimeter of my guerilla garden. I came back a week later to check on the plants and there was a fawn bedded right in my garden with the doe just out of sight. Those dog smells just don’t seem to deter them. Maybe chili spray or neem would keep them from actually eating the plants.
pretty sure it's the urine and not the feces that deters them. there's a hormone in the urine they pick up on.

It’ll deter them for a day or 2 but their curiosity will get the best of them. We used to hang sweaty tshirts in the woods to get deer to move into a pre planned kill zone. It only worked for a couple of days though and deer would ignore the scent
