essentially if you bought a dehum in the last 11 years it's probably screwed

Mine is over 5 years old and I use it all the time.
If it hasn't phucked up yet I doubt it will.
It has run some days almost non stop and never even gets slightly warm.

most things are all good til they're all bad. i'd just have a look for peace of mind.

it would be really helpful to know what component actually fails. haven't seen anything other than an overheat and fire hazard cited.

Hey everyone! Here's a legit article about it, just posted this morning:

It's kind of sad how so many brands are just relabeling products from the one company.
It's common for a parts manufacturer to make components that are used by different companies in the production of their products. Think like how Samsung diodes are used in lighting...

The articles I read made it seem like the one company made the dehumidifiers not just parts.
All affected models were made by a company called New Widetech, but were sold under various brand names
It's New WideTech handling the recall reimbursement, not the individual companies.
I bought dehumidifier just a week ago, I'm glad it's not on the list.

That remains me I best clean the dust filter on my own dehumidifier & that may contribute to over heating.

Wow just one company dealing with all those brand names.

Just had to double check British sources on that topic as well as we are a global community :Namaste:

Jesus christ my De'Longhi's compressor just died... @Fuzzy Duck which company?

Some American company called New Worldtech @Renee Roberts mention the news related article further up the thread.

My own De'Longhi is drying the washing at present darn British rainy summer.
