Hey Luke! As I understand it, they're both important~ there's no use in pulling 1000w if your plants aren't receiving any of the light~ this is my crude understanding of it~ maybe someone with a better explanation will weigh in.

I just wondering which one is more important. Like there's this post about diy light building ands it pull 114 w from the wall but has 18000 lux which is way more than my lux right now but less than my wattage pull. Has my head spinning ..- Thread starter

they are already throwing out so many pistils, and getting frosty! they look amazing vesp. i swear im wondering if it was that 36 hour dark period, im sure its not all because of it, but im pretty convinced it helped. and you added the cfls, love it, those girls will appreciate the extra lighting under their dresses lol.

watts are not as important, (except to your wallet) LUX is your light levels as it hits the plant, that is what is important.
Not what it puts out, but what that level is at the plants, so what the plants receive. Like Vesp said, you could pull 1k watts from wall, but have the light so far away the plants dont get any usable light. so a higher LUX with lower watt pull would mean it is more efficient as well. more light for less energy.

You hit the nail on the head. Not the measurement 1 " away, nor 6" nor 60", but from where YOUR light is (or will be) in relation to the canopy.

Not a whole lot to report~ canna cookies are definitely helping me be a more functional human being so I haven't been around the forums as much... but my house is clean!
