GR's Fall '19 Coco Grow

Hey Gr!

Things are looking good and I like the automated watering!

I’m trying to figure my setup out and slowly piecing it all together. I’m torn beteeen a recirc pump or air stones for my reservoir but leaning towards a recirc for better mixing.

What do you run in that setup?

I have had issues with rising pH when using recirculation pump or air stones.
I use a passive aeration, I have a small 6 inch fan blowing across my res and that is enough dissolved oxygen, in my opinion.
Some folks use a passive system which has a waterfall, I will see which of my friends uses it and let you know.
Here is my setup with the fan.

This is my drain pan, 8 gallon or so, I use a small aquarium pump to transfer the waste liquids to either to a drain or to the outdoor to a 36 gallon plastic cast that I use to water my outdoor house plants.

Couple of pic's of the ladies today. They a 6, 7 and 8 nodes at this point and I am going to top each on at the 4th node later today or tomorrow.

Thanks brother! What nutes are you using out of curiosity?

Canna full line and i flip between P/K 13/14 and KoolBloom.
I have been considering switching to GH line of nutes, for cost reason only. Canna line is easy to use, but like every supplier their grow guides, fert recommendations, are way too high.
Less is More, you have probably seen my post on this. I reduce Cannas suggested rates to about a 1/4.

Yea when I was using AN lineup I had to reduce everything as well. I run MegaCrop now and it’s pretty accurate with how to dose your plants and oh so easy! From my understanding it’s pretty ph stable in reservoirs so we will see once I setup my res how it holds!

Good things happening here in Trapland. Today I received my new Volcan Evolve Plus and have been working on the DIY EZ Cloner, cleaned, sanitized and put new weather stripping on the edges of the 27 gallon tub.

The DIY EZ Cloner, Last run I got 34 out of 34 rooted and planted. Washed, sterilized and ready for the clones.

Night Blooming Cereus or Old Man's Tongue. Have a few of these but hard to get a pic, they bloom at night an usually the bloom is dead by 10 AM that morning.

Ok took the clones off all 11 plants, let them grow to 7 nodes and cut them back to the 4th node.
One of the 11 plants,

With the light on them. Let's see how long it takes for these ones to take.

I tried adding my second 315W in the tent Monday evening and the ballast did not fire. I tried everything I know and said "Shit the Mother is dead". Called my hydro guy in the city and told him my problems. He did not have a Nanolux ballast or kit, but said he had an Xtrasun 315W digital ballast, he could get to me for $100. I looked it up and shit it is a $200 ballast with good reviews. Needless to say I drove into the city today and picked that sucker up.
Both 315W just a rocking!

So I spread them out, thinking of changing the spread, got to find the best config for this grow.

Here are the little ones, they are continuing to grow and looking good.

Am happy with the growth of the plants that were topped and the clones. Now that the lights are both working all should be good.

So this morning I pulled the plants and did the first trim and tie down, removed bottom growth and some fan. Tied the branches down to the pot.

Here they are trimmed, tied and back in the tent.

The 11 new clones clones placed in the DIY EZ Cloner. The clones taken on Monday are doing well, see a few bumps on the stems, start of the roots.

Keep y'all updated!

This was last Thursday's trim and tie down.

And yesterday's 9/1 recovery.

Back in the tent for about a week then I am going to flip or possabaly do one more topping then flip after recovery.

Less is More!
Have not changed the formula for the rez and hopefully I will get the same recovery I got from Aug. 29th to Sept. 1st.

Looks like I am going to loose two of the clones taken Last Monday, one was broke in the foam holder and the other was just weak. I did add another from today's trim, so the total stands at 21 clones.

Just a little update.

And today 9/6

Looks like I will be going into flower within the next few days.

This is strange, can anyone figure this one out? Same plant two different bud sites. I figured it out after a couple of hours and going back and looking at older pics.

So 9 to 10 weeks and we will see how it goes.

Day 1 pf 12/12

So we get into the boring part of the grow. Veg is over, so build bitches build. :rofl:
Love the beginning of the grow and the end of the grow but this time in between is boring. :)

This morning after observing the plants I decided that I would get the screen ready for the grow. Here they are this morning.
20190911_075731 (2).jpg

I sat the screen over the ladies and the height seems ok but don't want to make that decision until I remove the screen tomorrow and do a minor trim. At this point in my grows, about the first week of 12/12, I pull the plants and remove fans that have been supporting a node. Once that node has reached 3 to 4 nodes I remove that fan as I believe that the node has enough growth to support itself.
The screen itself.

Day 6 of 12/12

I removed the screen, decided to add it after I do the day 21 trim. I also removed most of the tie-downs, should of removed them all, but missed some due to being to fucking high while doing so.

20190913_093932 (2).jpg

I will be doing more trimming prior to day 21, soome under growth and fans blocking bud sites.

Finally got the rez stabilized, I was waiting until the rez was empty to make a new batch of nutes but would get major pH floating, starting at 5.8 +/- and after three cycles and 12 hours the pH was floating to 6.3 to 6.5. I was waiting to mix the nutes up till the rez was empty. I have begun mixing the nute at least two if not three days prior to going into the rez and allowed to stabilize prior to adding to the rez. My rez now starts at 5.8 +/- and over the 12 hour cycle the pH will below 5.95. I can now go two days and the pH rise will be 5.8 to just over 6.0.
I have considered getting a pH monitor that will inject pH solution as needed, but not sure if they would be accurate and how much floating would be allowed with the system. I do want some floating, 5.8 to 6.2 over two days would be ideal for me.
Does anyone use a monitor system and can you give me some input?
Thanks.

Have u looked on ph-stabilizer that you can put in your res?

Awesome grow bro. Finally cought up

Thanks for stopping by.
And thanks for the recommendation, do you recommend any brand?
Would love to be able to maintain a 5.8 to 6.1 pH for days at a time.
