How much different are cob leds from my panel? Even though I own a led panel im still pretty new to this end of things lol.

There are some different forms of LED out there. Standard bulb based LEDs where you have individual little bulbs. COB (Chip On Board) lights look like little squares of light emitting boards. There are some funny new Nano LEDs on the horizon that are kinda like COB, but have tiny little light emitting dots on them.
I've watched the industry dial in the effectiveness over the years. Perhaps the Nanos will trigger me to make another purchase....

Well i will vouch for my led panel its pretty kick ass! Lol. Biggest bud ive grown yet! And i was worried about whether this really was worth the step up but i can say now it most certainly is! Makes me curious how a lst plant would do under this light.
You make a good observation here that many other have made as well. Seems to me that the LEDs are especially good for an optimized canopy technique. They have a reputation for lacking penetration power, thus lead to better grows with optimized canopies.
I'd do it under my 400w HID, but I'm just too lazy.
I am really loving my regular 3W X 150 blurples. The greatest thing about new technology is it makes the previous gen lights go down in price. Then more people will be able to buy them and grow excellent buds. Still can't believe those Marshydro 140realdraw lights are 65 bucks. My buddy ordered six of them for his 4' X 4'. That will give him 50W/sq ft over that table for 390 dollars.

Well with the help of the misses we have decided that the smell is kinda like over ripe fruit but not in a horrible way but still pretty potent aromatically lol

Ya know I don't how much truth there is to this but mars hydro compares the light i have to 250w hps/mh/etc. All i do know is my buds seem bigger and denser under this light opposed to cfls.

Ok so i got a bit carried away with the pictures again lol. These girls are DAY 64 since flip and i think they will be getting cut down soon i see plenty of amber trichomes. Anyways on to the pictures enjoy!

Hahaha ya took me a while to upload them too lol. I do all of this off my phone so when i upload pictures in big amounts my phone bogs down on loading time a bit lol. A question if i may, do you think these girls are done? Heres the facts, they are indica dominant they are day 64 from flip and the trichomes are mainly cloudy with about 10-15% amber on calyx's. What do you think with all that in mind plus factoring its foxtailing so bunch of white hairs there but overall about 90% of all hairs are rusty orange?

Trichs at 10-15... maybe. I like more amber, but I'm shooting for a knock you off your feet smoke rather than the "uplifting cerebral" smoke. I like to see 50%
Have you considered putting them in dark for a couple of days? It increases the trichome size.

I haven't really thought to do anything like that. I normally would be ok with trying that out but i would be afraid they would get to cold doing that, that led gives them warmth and helps warm up the room but it's always a little cooler in the room with out the flowering chamber going. 50% amber ya say? And a plant is ok to go that long? Hmmm things to think about lol
Yes its more than ok. Keeping them in the dark for 48 hours does increase trichomes. Its the cool dry air. This is also why growers let there pots dry out. Last 2 weeks of flower drop the temp down to about 73 and RH to about 25%. Your trichomes will explode. Its a safety mechanism, it produces more to protect itself from the cool dry air. This combined with 48hr darkness= extra frosty. Also chop it in the dark while the roots are dormant. Will help with flavor
