Didn't know that the needs in nutes were that different depending on the strains! Very interesting :)

Do you control your soil pH once in a while?

Yea some strains are very sensitive to and others just eat up whatever nutes they get.

I don't measure pH of the soil or run-off, only adjust my water to pH ~7,0 as needed for Biobizz nutes, but I always try to improve and learn more about organic growing;)

Thanks for your answer! Once I'm done with the Canna nutes I'll switch to Biobizz because it seems easier and at least they answer emails :)

How long is the flowering time on these?

A little service goes a long way :)

They're almost 7 weeks in now, I think at least 2 more weeks before I start to consider chopping.
I haven't checked the advertised finish times, but probably around 10 weeks from flip, depends on when I think they look finish and my stash situation;)

Do you usually harvest when most trichomes are cloudy or you let them get to the amber stage first? I did the first method on my plant but I read that you get a more relaxed high when it's amber (trying my harvest tomorrow).

Oh and another question about the Biobizz nutes : do you aim for a different water pH for flowering or you leave it at 7? It appears that organic nutes are quite forgiving when it comes to pH accuracy.

Depends on the strain, but the indicas and indica leaning hybrids are usually chopped at 5%-25% amber trichomes, but I'd like to try and let one go to maybe 75% ;)

Yeah same pH throughout the grow, soil is in general forgiving when it comes to pH, and the organic nutes use the microorganisms in the soil to do the job and provide what the plant needs :)

I harvested at about 10% amber but the first 15 minutes of the high are sort of speedy so I think I also want to see what it'd do to harvest it later! I understood that aiming for more amber trichomes get you a more relaxed high?
Gotta smoke some more to "tame" the high and get a decent judgement of it :)

It's a rule of thumb, but also very dependant on strain and phenotype.

Update Day 98 (Flowering Day 69)

I flushed each of the girls yesterday with ++3x potsize tap water followed by 3L pH'ed water, I'm gonna chop some of them soon and maybe let some go for a second flush to really get them to finish up.

This is an interesting grow, and it's gonna be fun to have this many strains to sample:smokin:
Except for the Dream Machine in 3,5L square pot they seem to grow alright in small pots, but the fabric pots are certainly superior to the square pots. I'd like to try a single strain/clone SoG with 16 of these 4L hortipots in a SWICK setup;)

Critical+ looks like a strain with possibilities for heavy yields, hopefully it's a good night time smoke.

Pakistan Valley's very frosty buds are ultra dense - this one is killer, and IIRC it's also available as regular seed - if I like the smoke it's a gonna be grown again for sure.

OG Kush is dense, frosty and so very sticky, I really like DinaFem's Withe Widow so I'm looking forward to see what they did with this.

Bubba's Gift, though small and fuzzy, it just looks and smells so yummy I wanna eat it;)

These 4 strains grow well in SoG and are looking very nice indeed.

Cheese seems to be rather fluffy and slow in flower even though it was super fast in veg so it's probably better for bigger pots, Dream Machine just doesn't like being in a small pot, the one in fabric pot is looking halfway decent though.

Harvest update

The girls were all chopped and Bud Washed on day 70/71 from flip, day 101/102 from seed.

I had to dry them in the same room as my tents while they were running so they dried a bit fast, but the samples I've had so far were smooth and tasty after a couple of days of curing.

I was hoping to average at least 10g per plant, and I did, so I'll have plenty smoke until my other grow is finished.

The Critical+ were the biggest but, the OG Kush and Pakistan Valley just had so dense buds that they outperformed them and took up less space so these 2 are definitely SoG friendly strains that'll be able to give you +1 gpw if done right.

This was certainly a fun and educational grow that gave me 6 strains to sample, and now I want to try a proper SoG grow at some point.

Let the sampling begin :lot-o-toke:

I completely missed your post! Congrats on the harvest!
Is there something you learned on that specific grow?

Thanks man ;)

Well, I learned to never use square pots again, and that a SoG grow with many plants and the right strain will give a big yield very fast, or let you try many different strains in a small area:)

Could you detail a bit more why you won't use the square pots again? Are you going felt pots all the way in the future?

Because the plants get root-bound, making it a lot more difficult to properly flush before harvest.

I like the air-pots too, but my future plans so far is using 9x 11L smart-pots in my 120cm x 120cm tent, that way I get 3 more plants so I'll make the best use of the space, and get a bit shorter veg time.
That way I should yield more, faster and have capacity for more different strains.

Nug Porn :goof:

There must have been some hermies because I've found some seeds in the buds, not a lot but more than I've ever found in my nugs before, in some of the nugs you can see a seed sticking out.
