Better off with same size fabric pots with handles.

Well I've never grown cannabis outside, but if I did, I would probably use a new plastic garbage can with holes cut in the bottom 
...what are they? Like 40 or 50 gallons

Agree , they work but i wont be using buckets again

A friend of mine uses the plastic garbage cans...the issue he has is the plants end up being 10- 12 feet tall becase the can itself is 3 1/2 feet . In the city thats a problem
Well
I make "air pots" out of my buckets...I drill holes all up and down the outside to air prune the roots I've tried the fabric pots and they're magnets for my 2 pups sheds (fur)

For example, I’ll probably pull at least 10 oz off this young lady in a 5 gallon perlite hempy bucket. I would be pretty happy with that and would call it good.
And I’m hoping to get at least a pound and a half off this beastie girl - growing in 30 gallon tub with about 20 gallons of perlite. That would make me very happy!

I get about 6 ounces off a auto and at least 10 ounces off a photo

and make sure to drill or poke holes in the bottom of the bucket and all around it
Or just one 1/2” hole about 2-1/2” above the bottom (if you were to try a hempy bucket). A 5 gallon hempy bucket should yield more than a comparable bucket of soil.
