Aspirin for your plants

I am trying to grow a plant from the seed and it is very young right now. Is it ok to give it aspirin to speed up the process or is it too early?
Using aspirin mixed with water as a rooting aid was popular here and on other Cannabis growing message boards years and years ago. Popular with those who were looking for natural alternatives to store bought mass produced rooting aids or anything that promoted faster root growth.

You did not mention if you were growing in a natural soil or something like a coco coir mix. As far as a natural soil goes it does seem to be OK as long as you follow the recommended amount of aspirin to water. That means looking up and reading messages from 8 or more years ago since I have not noticed it coming up very often since.

This long-ago member brings up one of the popular alternatives to aspirin from way back...
Water soaked in willow bark or wood (which is a ingredient in aspirin) is also used as rooting hormone for clippings to make clones.
Soaking willow bark and leaves in water will release the "salicin" found in that plant material. This "salicin" is the natural form of "Acetylsalicylic acid" which is the man-made ingredient that is aspirin.

In the long run it is better to use any of the often mentioned fertilizers at the recommended amounts and frequency if you are new to the game of gardening and especially new at Cannabis growing.

Forcing a female plant to produce male flowers to seed itself (hermpahroditic reproduction) results in seeds that will be predominately female.
BUT
those plants will carry the herm. gene, not good.

I've heard of using aspirin as a way of keeping cut flowers fresh longer, but never on living plants.

The author in the OP talks about plants as if they were people, but they aren't.
Human sex hormones (birth control pills) don't turn a plant female either, because plants are plants NOT PEOPLE.
If you think vitamins/medicine for humans affects plants like people, try feeding your plant a Big Mac and tell us what happens.
Research does indeed show that diluted aspirin (you do not want over-saturation of asprin to water) dabbed under leaves nearest where budding is most likely, tricks the plant into anti-bacterial mode, and it's THC, CBD, and terpine levels go up a lot. And many find some asprin diluted into water for seeds certainly appears to the increase see growth success. And, of course, it helps cut flowers and cuttings remain longer and stronger/healthier.

So long as you don't under-dilute the prepared solution. There's plenty of online instructions. Read a few and decide on what suits you best with regards heightening THC/CBD/terpines.
