Bokstavsbarns Soil White Widow Grow Journal - 2010

hehe, I have a feeling this forum have a lot of lurkers. They just like to hang around in the background... You have almost 300hits on your journal so thats a lot. People kind of wake up when you start to give them bud shots;)

Well my plants is crazy. When I was tie them down yesterday I took one out of the tent. She was taller then me, so I guess about 200cm. They are now tie down in a up down L shape making it 150cm.

Now Its time for my morning joint:)

Day 48
A couple of days ago I posted after killing two males. The day after I find two more. Now there's only 4 ladies left in my grow room. Before it looked like a sea of green and there was litteraly no place to grow wide for the plants. Because of that, (and other possible factors) I think my ladies need to grow much bushier now that there is tons of space for them to do so. I miss my sea of green:

After reading BurmeseKush plants got over 200cm's tall I decided to measure mine. They are betwean 53-60cm right now and have betwean 9-14 nodes. Below you see a dead male hanging to dry, gotta love nature. I used one instead of tobacco to roll a hasch joint with. Actually tasted very sweet and thick:

I cant wait for the buds, each day I see them coming closer and closer.

Overview of two plants. Sure hope they fill out(and think they will)

Thanks for the tips and thoughts on tieing ladies down guys and hope all you come back! I'm looking for criticism and suggestions on this grow, please comment!

Aye my nutrients are administrated through every watering and have been since first week of flowering. Was kinda weird to me since I only used chemical fertilizers before. I water them every 3-4 days, depending on how moist soil is giving them around 1.5 liters per plant. You think they look like they need more water or?

Droopy looking leaves can be the sign of the plant getting to much water. My experience is that its better to lift the pot and feel the weight of it, rather than stick the finger in the top of the soil and feel for how moist it is.

About the lower leaves its something with your nutes. This is the pages I use when I try to make a dessision of what changes need to me made. Im not a pro at this so its better for you to read it yourself so I dont f..k anything up for you my friend.

Hm are you sure? Have to admit I have my doubts and I've been told that the lowest branch of leaves on the plant can go yellow without there beeing any defficencies.

From what I have read its not any reason for leaves to go yellow/white when u grow inside. We have control of almost 100% of the conditions, so the plant can inside grow from start to finish grow perfectly green.

But follow your hart. You have all the information about your grow, so you are the best one to take a decision. Dont stress about, but have it in mind if it spread. Read trough the links I gave you, its excellent reading anyhow.

I appreciate your thoughts BurmeseKush and do not take this lightly. I read through the first two of your links yesterday, was a good read. However I couldnt identify a problem that consisted with my plants and since I've seen the yellow bottom leaves on my own and others succesfull grows before I will not change anything for now. Did a quick PH-test on run off water and seems alright there. Here's some photos of two of my plants 3 weeks into flowering(Just Say Now):

This is the 26th day of flowering. Since I last posted I found another male, very late notice but I'm confident I was able to defend my ladies virginities. Here's a group shot of the 3 ladies I got from planting 10 seeds:
26group.jpg

Here you can clearly see the yellowing leaves. I've been thinking alot about this and would appreciate any thoughts and suggestions. I'm not sure if it's a normal thing or not. I Might have stunted my plants in a couple of ways: it could very well be the extra fan I added since it blows very strong and hits the plants in the yellowing area all day. The yellowing leaves is all in the same height.
Further more my grow room is very limited, and from rotating plants/moving them out I might have hurt them.
I also suffer and do my best to even out the temperatures. This uneveness might be stunting the plants more now in flowering than before? At day time it gets hot, up to 35 celcius, and in the night time it's pretty cold here now(even inside, dunno temp but gonna look it up).
PH-levels seems fine, in ranges betwean 6.0-6.5 and I do not believe I have overfed my plants, after making that misstake before I'm pretty careful about that these days. Should I give them a good flush, I hear this can help?
On a happier note, here is some kiddie bud-porn from the smallest of the 3 plants:

Two of my plants have jumped in height while one still is a little left behind. here's the biggest of my 3 plants:

Take care guys, life is how ya live it <3

Seems like too much nutrients with the brown leaves. I would cut back on nutrients completely for 2 weeks and see if the plants perk up. I have not been using any fertilizer whatsoever and my plants are huge. Seems like what happened to me one time when I used bloom booster way too early in the flowering process. My philosophy is some lower yellow and ugly leaves are totally normal especially when growing hydroponically. In fact, I think it serves some purpose for the plants overall growth, not totally sure but I never cut off hardly any leaves and I have several huge bushes vegging for only 2 weeks. No fertilizers. Totally organic. Makes diagnosing problems much easier. Also, I want to do a totally organic grow and see if the taste is better. I really like your garden. Very nice plants.

Hey again guys, thanks for your input. I'm using BioBizz Bloom. It was a bit weird to me, but I've been told to always follow instructions that follow with the nutrients. BioBizz Bloom said to use it in every watering from the first day of flowering. I waited a couple of days but still followed it. Normaly I give only water for the first 2 weeks of flowering. Could this have stunted my plants?
I'm gonna take your advice. Soon as the roots are dry again, tomorrow or so, I'll give the ladies a good flush and then only give water for awhile.

Thanks again guys, pictures coming on next update.

Hey again! There's a little bit of snow here but I can still catch a sweet tan under my HPS. About the nutes; I dont think that's the reason since I only used BioBizz after switching to 12/12. In vegetive growth I didnt use any nutrients until the last 10 days when I introduced orchid nutrients at half doze. These yellow/brownish leaves first came in the second week of flowering to my knowledge. But I still think you're right, I must have overdozed the nutes on them. A couple days back I gave the ladies a good flush. Looks like they liked it alot, better growth and I think they look healthier already. Gonna borrow a new camera for some better focus pictures of the plants but meanwhile heres some zoom of the cola growth:

Gonna keep on with just water for a week or so more and then go back to bio bizz at half doze. Should I expect harvest to be delayed now cuz of nutrinial O.D?

take it easy!

Day 67(36th 12/12)
Hey again guys. I'm really glad I've had your help to determine this affliction that's been stunting my plants. You were right from the get-go, my plants have been overfed. Below you can see one of the burnt leaves:
67burn.jpg

After the flush a week ago from today I see a clear difference in two of my plants. They look much healthier and the buds have begun swolling:
67secondbud.jpg

However, the third one is not looking so hot and seems to still be getting worse. It has lost all of it's foilage in the mid-section, the buds are not in the same stage as the other two plants and it's also 10cms shorter than it's big sisters. Last but not least the stem of the plant on this one is turning purple/reddish when the other two has a healthy green shade. Here's a group shot:
67group.jpg

Even thought quality is wack I'm pretty sure you can see the difference. The plant that is still struggeling is the on to the left. The plant to the right still has some foilage burns but I feel it's recovering well and has a lot of good growth. The middle plant is the one least affected by the burnage and also has a slightly lighter green than it's sisters:
67secondbiggest.jpg

Here's a closer shot of the top cola of the same plant:
67healthycola.jpg

And a zoom on the bud that's growing more white every day:
67bud.jpg

I intend to keep on giving just water to the 2 healthier ladies for 5-7 days more than starting on a very low doze BioBizz Bloom again. The third plant I'm not sure what to do with. Thoughts, suggestions and criticism is much welcome. Take care fellas!
