Can anyone please tell me what’s happening to 2 of my girls

Hi I have started my first batch and 18 seeds germinate and now I have 18 girls and I’m starting to see some yellow areas on 2 of them. I’ll post pictures of the two girls and a picture of the setup. I’m a first time grower and so far I’m in week 2 and I’m not sure what to do.

You think if I just poke hole down and break up soil abit, I give it about 57ml of water each and then twice a day I just give a light mist sprey just to keep moisture up. I did have a root problem a few days ago getting it started because I didn’t plant the seed I left it too long in a water paper towel and had to plant the roots and yesterday I put in some root developer in the water and they grow nicely. Just use this soil in picture

I realized I was overwatering when the leaves started dropping down so I’m only going to water 57ml 3 x a week now

I noticed you are using solo cups, a good solo cup method of growing with solo cups is to get a clear solo cup fill it with your grow soil and then use another colored solo cup of your choice to place the clear cup in, Then this way you block out the light to the roots so they can grow but you are still able to look at the roots develop when you lift it up outta the colored cup when examing your plants daily. :) ...Oh and make sure holes are at the bottom of both sets of cups for drainage. :)

LOL.. NO having to believing 013 ...It does have fertilizer in it 6 month release, I checked the brand out. Even tho it does as long as he dosen't add extra ferts in he should be fine with just watering with regular corrected pH water and proper drainage for the first little while and if he watchs his plants closely when he see's the first signs of a deficiency then start slowly adding nutrients in... Plus it might be the only type of soil mix he has access to so gotta work with what you can get your hands on right! :)

That’s rights soil selection very limited. Thanks just trying as cheap as I can until I get better at it then cough up more money

Hi @Chucklee30 and welcome to the forum! :welcome:

We really need to teach you the proper way to water a weed. Thinking for the plant and deciding how much and how often you are going to water is not the way to do it. You need to let the plants make the decisions for you.

You can not over water by giving too much water in once session. Any extra water that the soil can not hold simply runs out of the bottom as runoff. You absolutely should water your solo cups to the point of runoff, and then using the lift the pot method, you must wait 2-4 days until the plant has used ALL of that water, all the way to the bottom, before watering again. Your present method is drowning your roots, and you need to stop doing that, and let the plants pull oxygen all the way down to the bottom of the containers.

I wrote a nice piece on how to properly water and the link is down below in my signature. I invite you to read it so you get a better idea of the importance of the wet/dry cycle.

So I found a surprise when I got home after work, I came across one of these gnats, I killed it.
But I’m hoping it didn’t already lay eggs on the soil.

you can probably count on it... she and all of her sisters.... Pine Bark mulch 1" thick on the top of the soil fixes this... they are too stupid to figure out how to get to the soil through that.

Hello guy update from last time. So they growing nicely as you can see in the picture. Some of them seem to have a lighter and darker green tones. And some have the healthy green all over, any ideas??
