Why did you choose day 18 to defo.
Most wait to day 21, do a major defo then just remove fans that are blocking bud sites. Some also do a followup on day 42.

Looks great but I personally take off all those huge fan leaves as well. Anything with a long petiole (stem) goes. However, nothing horrible will happen if you leave it either.

I’m constantly snipping all through veg and flower. I am removing the largest fan leaves every 3-5 days throughout the grow beginning with my topping after the 4th node. Then a major strip right before flower, around the 21st and again on the 42nd.

I defoliated these yesterday, day 20. They couldn’t have cared less and no slow down as can be seen by the tent pics taken today. Bonus was the humidity immediately dropped 10%.

Nothing magical happens to the plant on the 21st and 42nd day which makes it end all drop dead date. They are moments in the plants cycle which makes defoliation most benifitial to yield with the least amount of risk.
