Defoliation In Flower?

I’m entering my 4th week of flower and I have taken a lot of my large fan leaves and was wondering if that’s all I should take or can I take lower limbs that have no chance of doing anything or will that be too much stress?

just dont go crazy with it
little here and a little there wont hurt
dont do as i did and wait till week 6 to defoliate and end up picking buds because they were getting no light and defoliating anyways after worrying about it the whole time.

if its impeding airflow and/or its more than a certain distance below the canopy trim it off sooner than later

Sounds like youre ok. I do something similar. Every plant is different. Normally I do a three week default and I won’t touch any leaves until after I harvest the plant unless there are leaves that are blocking bud sites. You got pics?

I just hack off the lower 1/3-2/3 of the plant depending how I feel it needs to be trimmed. I just recently did mine and they’re doing amazing with rapid new growth

yes you can ...what you are asking about and describing is lollipoping ...if you know the branches aren't going to do anything then its a waste of the plants energy to maintain them .

looks like a clean defoliation to me (first picture ) if I where going to take anything off of her lower section it would be around the 3 foot from the top as good lights will support decent growth at that depth especially with this type of defoliation.

This is what I do. I don't mess with fan leaves at all.
