![Welcome :welcome: :welcome:](/community/styles/420style/smilies/welcome.gif)
I started doing my research and such, because I really didn't know anything about growing. I noticed that, while a lot of people would probably disagree with me, there's no real RIGHT way to go about it. It's really simple to do, but much harder to get that 100% out of it lots of people go for. So I decided to stick an attitude of "simple is best" for this first grow. I get a T12 light and decide to do 4 plants in my closet, 2 of each.
Well I try the paper towel method on the first 4 seeds. Only 2 germinate. So I end up with a BG and a BJ. I was gonna stick with that, but a week later decide to do one more of both. So this time I use the cup of water method, and it works much better. They all did pretty good until I moved the sprouts into the big pots. The first BJ didn't survive the transplant I guess. So I ended up with a BJ and 2 BG. Oh, and I started this on Jan 13th of this year.

Here's my general setup. Normally the light is MUCH closer. It was raised so I could take the pictures.
Well this is actually the second setup. You can't see the shelf above, but that's where I had intended on letting it grow for a little while. As soon as I put them into the pots though, I couldn't see the sprouts anymore.

Thats why the fans I have are set up like this. I realize it's probably not the best way, but I can't think of how else to place them. See at first I had the cardboard piece taped to the wall, and the emergency blanket I've been using as a cheap reflector/cover, was taped to the other side. I had them pointed out at first, blowing the air out. Unfortunately, having the cover taped to the fans turned out to be a bad idea because it became impossible to get into the area back there. So now the fan is set really low, and I rotate the plants everyday so they get equal time in front of it.
I'm using regular soil I got from a store. Scotts, or something like that. The nutes I got are Miracle Grow, but it's pretty mild. 8-7-6 it calls for 10-20 drops per qt, I gave it 20 in a gallon. So about 25% strength I would say. Probably the hardest thing I have to do is balancing the ph of our water. I'd say on average it takes me 8-10 drops of lemon juice per gallon of tap water to get it to around 6.5-6.6.
So anyway I gonna put up the pictures of the newest, most favorite things in my life.

The BlackJack. I was really excited about this strain, and I wish one of the others had made it. By the way all of these pictures are from Feb 13th.

Bubblelicious B. Or at least that's what it was supposed to say. This one and the BlackJack are both the 2 I germinated with the cup method. I'd recommend it now.

So that's about it for now. I think it's going pretty good so far. I'd love and helpful advice or criticism. I'll be posting more pictures next week. Later all
