Soil (65%Potting compost, 35% perlite)

Not monitoring temp/humidity as wanted to keep first grow simple.

The Rud-Ind (left in the first pic) was from a pack of autos but (as can happen with this strain) it ended up not autoflowering.
The bag seed was pruned as a seedling (after 5nodes appeared) to provide the ‘manifold’ shape.

Both have had 7-8 weeks of veg (18/6), are showing female pre flowers, and were switched to flower (12/12) 3 days ago (24/3/19).

10 days into 12/22, and they are responding nicely!

Thanks!

I had some issues with over/under watering early doors which set them all back a bit, but I seem to have worked out the tell tale signs for each, and have also got better at judging the weight of the pots!
Unless you are growing clones then each plant will uptake water at a different rate so will need to be watered at different times.

If you are day 25 in flower then I would get rid of ANY leaves that cover a bud sight. Allowing more air flow around the growing buds. Your getting there, keep it up.

I’ve been removing some leaves periodically to keep things open, but interesting to hear you say that I should remove ‘ANY’ that block bud sites.
How severe can I be here?
And does there come a point in the flowering period after which I should stop removing leaves?
I’d also be interested in your thoughts on any special nutritional requirements at this stage?

I’ve found a general flowering mix (5:bigblush:10 NPK) in the local garden center, so I’m gonna go with that and see what happens!

With regards the leaf removal, do I need to leave some fan leaves intact, or can I be brutal?

The numbers on the flower mix are good but if you can find something for veggies or fruit it would be much better . And yes I would remove all the big fan leaves, they have done their job and will slowly die off anyway.

Ahh, OK. Unfortunately it’s all ready bought, and financial agreements with the household treasury department (ie Mrs Athlete) dictate that it must now be used. Fortunately, those same agreements don’t preclude me from convincing her to try other nutes in future grows.....all in the name of scientific investigation, of course!

Day 28 of 12/12. Decided to take them out of the tent and give them a bit of a trim, as per the advice given by bluenoserjoe above. Didn’t remember to take before pics, but here they are after.

Bag seed plant on the left, Sensi Seeds Rud-Indica on the right.

Thanks dude! I’ve been pretty blasé about yields from the start (first grow, i’ll take what I can get, etc).....but now that it’s coming down to it, I’m looking forward to seeing how much I get!

I took 8.3oz. from three plants on my first grow. Kind of surprised me because sure wasn't expecting anything like that. I am curious to see which one of your plants will produce the best, the sensi or the bag seed. Your plants look good, I think you will be pleased. Be patient and enjoy the grow. In the mean time here is something to dream about.

To be honest, I think I’d be happy with half that ;).....I’m expecting more from the bag seed, but only because I’ve topped it and trained for 8 separate colas....but then again the sensi does seem to have much denser bud sites allready....so who knows! lol

Day 30 of 12/12. Starting to see some fattening, and have rotated the pots to ensure even access to the light.
