First Multi Strain DWC Run

Hello everyone, I just thought I would share my set up with y'all and hopefully get some feedback. I'm a first time grower in a area where information is limited so please any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

The grow room itself is 7'7" by 9'1" long and 7' high, the room itself is built within an old office. The office originally was 11'x20'. To construct the room i basically stood two walls up , insulated heavily and hung drywall. For the walls already standing I did my best to seal the Windows with clear gorilla tape, also added 1.5" foam board insulation and screwed that to the wall over the Windows. I left the curtains and blinds up to give the appearance that nothing has changed (except that room is dark all the time now lol. After that was all hung I took great stuff foam and sealed all the cracks. When the great stuff was dry I trimmed off some of the bigger chunks and added white & black poly film around the entire room. Except where I cut out and Placed a LG 8000 btu 115v window ac to cool the room. Around the window I took mastic sealer and basically covered the window. On top of the mastic I used hvac hot/cold tape( couldn't think of what's it's called).after the ac was in all I had to do was add my tents.

Starting off I purchased two low quality tents (one 2x4 and one 4x4) and they did all right but I wanted to maximize the use of my space so I had a plan to Oder quality tents and to place 3 gorilla grow tents in the room (two 4x4 against the back wall and one 2x4 for veg against the other) but after construction and the gorilla tents finally arriving there was not enough room for the 2x4 tent and to comfortably move around & work in the 4x4's so I moved the 2x4 to a closet . I'm Currently left with two 4x4 gorilla tents in the room.
Both 4x4 tents are currently flowering right now. The first one (we'll call that tent T1) is on day 67 but I don't really count that run considering it was my very first run and it's been more of learning plants that I've just beat the hell out of. I wanted to get a little familiar with everything before I started with good genetics. Regardless she's taken all the abuse I've given her and has started her flush out , should be chopping down in the next couple weeks but we'll see how that goes.

I wasn't going to show any pictures of T1 but maybe some one has some advice for me so here she is.

T2 is currently on day 8 of flower, I started from seed 8 weeks ago and now we are here. My first plant gave me some general knowledge of ppm and very basic health assessment so going into this run I felt a little more confident.

I currently have 3 strains growing in T2. The strains are white widow extreme, chronic and borderliner extreme. Which I purchased from amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com, other than their website I haven't been able to find out much on these specific strains.

In the tent I have a adjustable 600wt hps running at 450 right since I just switched to flower . I'm also adding co2 and Each strain is in its own 5 gallon bucket , For my nutrients I'm using PH perfect sensi bloom Part A&B, Cal MAg, diamond nectar, silica,Fl+ and great white microbes. I will continue to only use these until week 3 of flower when I will introduce big bud for two weeks then over drive two weeks after. I will also cut out the great white at week 5.

Here's a quick time lapse to week 9

This was my first post and I hope I gave everyone enough info about my setup, if you have any questions, tips or comments again I would love to hear them all even the bad and the ugly. Please correct me if I'm doing something wrong lol. Anyway I hope everyone has a fun and safe week and I look forward to everyone's comments.
Cheers .

One more thing. I just noticed I didn't have any pictures of the two 4x4 gorilla tents in the room. I'll be sure to add that once I get home and take some pictures. Some old pics from when I started the room.

Hey bro love the setup but there's one thing I'm going to say to you and I don't care who it offends but take those ballasts off the floor along with the cables and any other forms of live wires, dual plug adapters, etc. One small water leak and you could have a problem on your hands. Try to wall mount your ballasts and keep any live wires tidy and off the ground away from any potential water spills or leaks. Sorry to sound like a safety freak but it's harder to put out a fire than it is to clean up a water spill.
Now I've got that off my chest I would like to wish you a great harvest and the pics look great. Keep up the good work bro.

Hey thanks for you're concern, you are not offending anyone by any means.....electricity is no joke. I was going to write you back and say how I planned on building something like I have in T2 as soon as those test plants got out of T1 , but like u said one small leak and it can get very bad. So For tonight I went ahead and built a little shelf to set everything on until I can get to Home Depot tomorrow to get the supply's to build another set up like I have in T2. Again thanks for the concern and advice. I appreciate you looking out. For tonight this should work.

But I plan on building something like this. Only with the ballast being level lol.

If ya got room for another think I may slide my chair in here for the show. Plants look good. Really like the detail you give of what you are doing. Allows others to compare (Myself included).

That's a lot better bro, again better to be safe than sorry later, and on the topic off electrical safety and water leaks I my self found a leak on one off my Dwc pots that I'm running tests on today. The crazy thing is the leak was dripping from under the base off the pot as some how it seems to have damaged during a sterilisation and the plastic has a hair line fracture right through the base of the pot causing a constant drip off water. But again I'm such a safety freak I put my pots on top of some old drip trays I had laying about so I was able to identify the pot that was leaking and saved myself a job of mopping up a lot of lost water. But I'm glad you took my post seriously and made the changes I suggested straight away. Nice work bro

Hello everyone, Thank you for stopping by and checking out my grow. Tonight (8/15) will be day 13 of flower but I'm going to go ahead and give my two week update today as I will be busy the next few days. Overall health seems to be good except for some minor cal mag deficiencies(slight purpling stems) , the chronic being the worst followed by the borderliner and the widow with very minor purpling. Other than that All of the girls seem to stretching and happy another 4-5" of growth this week. Day 14 will bring the defoliation of anything lower than 24" down from the top of the canopy I will also be removing the large fan leaves that may block tops, I will try to leave as many of top fan leaves as possible . Defoliation during flower seems to be a highly debated subject and if anyone has any input or advice I would love to hear it. From my understanding you don't want to strip anymore off the plant after day 14 in fear of stress or shock? Also I offset my defoliation and feed because from my understanding is that you don't want to strip 30-40% of the plant off and give it the same amount of nutrients ( heard the same thing could shock and possibly burn). Again this is all a combination of you tube, books and hear say . I've never been fortunate enough to speak with a knowledgeable grower about growing. I guess that's why I'm here lol. So if anyone has any tips I would I've to hear them. As far as my nutrient schedule goes I did not raise my ppm to much as I believe they are almost maxed out . The last feeding I did not see a substantial drop in ppm the following days and after this mornings reading I believe I'm close. Starting next week I will add big bud to the mix but my base should stay about the same.

My nutrient schedule was

White widow

29 A&B
30 Cal Mag
4 FL+
34 Nectar
3 silica
Ppm-1160
Ppm on 8/15 was -1150

Chronic

27 A&B
33 Cal Mag
30 Nectar
4 FL+
3 Silica
Ppm-1170
Ppm on 8/15 -1040

Borderliner

34 A&B
33 Cal Mag
4 FL+
30 Nectar
3 silica
Ppm-1280
Ppm on 8/15-1240

Ml is per 4 gallons using tap water at 150 ppm

If anyone has anyone has any questions or comments the good and the bad I would love to hear them. Thanks again for checking out my grow. Until next week friends Stay safe and have a good one

Since my last update quite a bit has happened in my garden. On day 14 I defoliated the lower canopy and the big fan leaves blocking the tops. I ended up removing around 50%~60% of the plant, Witch was more than I wanted and I was a little worried right after I was finished, The girls looked pissed but at the end of their light cycle for that day They were back praying to the light. Fast forward to today and you can hardly tell I did anything. This is will probably be the last time I touch my plants with the ✂️ until the chop.
Over all health of the plants seem to be good, the borderliner has some purpling around the stems on the top fan leaves so For that plant I've been refilling the 5 gallon with 6ml cal mag per gallon. Each strain drinks about a gallon and a half every two days. Usually I just add water but for the borderliner I've been adding the cal mag. Bud sites on all the strains seem to be getting bigger and should continue to stack on. Hopefully everything continues to run smoothly like it has been.
Thanks everyone for checking out my grow.
